Would Janet Jackson Make a Good 'X Factor' Judge?

A week ago, the rumor mill was suggesting Whitney Houston might take one of the empty judge's seats at "The X Factor," but circumstances have obviously squashed that possibility. Now The New York Daily News reports that Janet Jackson might be in negotiations with the show. If the rumors are true, she would be one of two replacements needed following the departure (read: firing) of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

When Anderson Cooper asked Jackson about the possibility, she remained tight-lipped -- a sign that she probably is in talks, but not far enough along to confirm anything. Interestingly, Abdul has choreographed several of Jacksons videos over the last three decades, so if the former judge has any say in the matter, you can bet she'll throw in for Ms. Jackson. Do you think Janet Jackson would make a good 'X Factor' judge?

She is definitely no Whitney Houston but, still I hope she don't compare contestants by her own singing which I would rather not hear.

oh snap whitney was going to be on X factor?! too bad she died. that would've been great. um her voice isn't the greatest (rebbie's pretty good), but you don't have to be able to sing to judge others on their singing

I voted no on this question, and maybe I am a bit bias, but frankly I am fed up with the trend in America where there are so many judgmental categories. And to add to what I think to be an inappropriate behavior, we are being judged by people that are far less than perfect in their own lifestyle.

I am a firm believer of a higher power, and there are commandments that I subscribe to as a follower. One of these commandments is "judge not lest ye be judged yourself", I do not think this commandment was stated in a manor where idle judging of others are exempt. And I think we as a society have become so comfortable with being cavalier in our approach to life, that we take for granite or assume it's ok to split hairs where matters like this are concern.

I feel we as a society need to take a step back and look at the ramifications of becoming comfortable with such leisure behavior of judging others. It makes it really difficult to get a handle on what gauges are used to set the standards for judging, and what values are considered. We need not look back no further than the OJ case where we see misplaced values use are result of becoming comfortable with cavalier judging. JOMO

I think she would because she comes from a family of great singers, herself included. Yeah I do believe she probably would be too nice to them but you need on person at least to be positive if you have everyone being brutally honest you will have many people upset and won't want to watch the show. As long as Simon is still being his uptight yet hilarious and brutally honest self then I don't really care who is a judge. I didn't really like last season because I felt that Simon was being attacked by Nicole, Paula, and I think his name was L.A. and that Drew would have won but I do like who did actually win but I'm glad he got rid of them they were too dramatic and didn't like anything that Simon had to say when it WAS HIS SHOW!! but either way I think if she does I think because she knows so much about the music industry that she couldn't really help the singers.

She'd probably want them to have a wardrobe malfunction while on stage. Personally, I am sick to death of all the Jacksons.

I think she would. She comes from a multi talented family, and if anyone knows quality she would. I would be surprised if she took it though. They are very private people for the most part. I guess we'll just wait and see.

Uh, NO. She's got that mousey voice all the Jacksons (except Tito) have & I don't think she'd be honest because she wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings or alienate her fans.

BTW, Tito's speaking voice is veeeeeeery sexy. Like Dennis Haysbert.
