Would Janet Jackson Make a Good 'X Factor' Judge?

A week ago, the rumor mill was suggesting Whitney Houston might take one of the empty judge's seats at "The X Factor," but circumstances have obviously squashed that possibility. Now The New York Daily News reports that Janet Jackson might be in negotiations with the show. If the rumors are true, she would be one of two replacements needed following the departure (read: firing) of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

When Anderson Cooper asked Jackson about the possibility, she remained tight-lipped -- a sign that she probably is in talks, but not far enough along to confirm anything. Interestingly, Abdul has choreographed several of Jacksons videos over the last three decades, so if the former judge has any say in the matter, you can bet she'll throw in for Ms. Jackson. Do you think Janet Jackson would make a good 'X Factor' judge?

Rumours were abound that Whitney Houston was to have been approached for this role along with Maria Carey - Sounded like a stellar lineup. However, now Whitney is out of the picture - Miss Jackson would make an admirable substitute with her sublime pedigree and it will do no end for her profile, Jennifer Lopez is testament to this!

Janet has grown up in the "business", she knows talent and would be very able to find someone who has that "wow factor" to draw people in. Plus, if she is anything like Latoya, then she has a generous and compassionate heart and she will help lots of people go very far! janet jackson with michael jackson

Maybe, nothing could make it worse. These sick assed "reality" shows have to rune their course soon. They are not reality and they copy each other and they promote false drama and they are there only because they are cheaper to produce than real shows.
How many "winners" succeed? How many of those would have succeeded anyway, with out the show? people watching this cheap and manipulated crap are keeping off some other real shows that might be useful, educational and enterntaining. Stop watching, write in about the lame format and maybe they will go away and be replaced by real shows.

OK.. I don't watch the show, and I can't really comment on her talent, but let's not be unfair and compare her or anyone to Whitney - even though that's the person we are all thinking about and mourning right now.. BUT.. about Janet Jackson... have any of y'all ever heard her speak in an extended interview stiuation? Unless she has really changed in the last couple of years, she is not all that articulate or insightful.

Janet would make a great "X Factor" Judge if we could be assured of a wardrobe malfunction each and every week!

Oh God, I hope not, this girl can hardly sing herself let along judge someone else. If they hire her is it just for the star power in hopes it will draw people to watch this waste of TV time.

She has the experience to actually know what she's talking about and for people watching to have reason to believe what she says.

She could replace any of the three and make the show better, though it seems Simon has chosen not to replace LA Reid. He really needed a full replacement set.

She's been the music industry long enough. She was a pop culture/music icon. She the little sister of the Michael MJ Jackson. I think she would do fine on a show like X-Factor... better than fine.

No, to X-Factor, but a big yes, if they will take her over to AI as a replacement for Steven Tyler, because that guy is so damn ugly the sight of him makes me cringe, and Janet is so much easier on the eyes. I stopped watching AI when they brought Tyler on the show, and I haven't been back since.
