    All 'spaghetti' westerns.

Anything directed by Akira Kurosawa, Lawrence Kasdan or Oliver Stone... or produced by Dino Di Laurentiis.

Overall worst film: "Natural Born Killers"

The book was excellent, though. Malcolm McDowell actually nailed the character of Alex, but they insisted on the quirky, 60's/70's style of cinematography, and this ruined it. For me, anyway.

omigosh, you didn't like 9? Like, the Tim Burton movie?
  • Happy_E... PurdyGirl 2012/04/16 17:24:14
    Happy_Evil_Dude
Tim Burton really had very little to do with it, he just basically put his name there to give it more prestige, Shane Acker made the film (in any case Tim Burton isn't sacred and hasn't made a truly great film in 9 years IMO). And yeah, I am talking about the utterly boring obnoxious animated crapfest that was 9, and I'm far from the only person who thought so as it got horrible reviews.

"Hurt Locker" wasn't bad... certainly doesn't belong with the other stinkers on that list you crafted. Apart from this, I agree totally!

Yeah, I know Hurt Locker won the best picture Oscar and all that, but I was infuriated by it. Now it is in no way bad in the same way that some of the other films in this list are, but it disgusted me nontheless. I've got to go, so I'll just say that the film wants you to root for one of the most unsympathetic a-holes ever put on the big screen, a character so obnoxious you want to punch him in the face. How can such a movie work?

Ah, yeah... I remember that now. The characters in American flicks don't generally make much of an impression on me. Not that I'm a film snob or anything-- they just usually focus on action and special effects, rather than casting. This guy, I do recall, was a puke. Somehow, they maintained tension-- for me, anyway.

FWIW, I have absolutely no interest in the Oscars, etc. Bunch of self-congratulatory morons who haven't had an original idea in... forever.

My top three worst movies of all time!

    1. Jack & Jill. So stupid we had to turn it off.
    2. Breaking Dawn. No good action or fights, just kissing the whole show.
    3. Freinds with kids. Okay show but the worst ending ever. it ruined the show.

Yes, among other things. I will give you that most people do think it's a bad film, but I personally find it extremely underrated. Like all of Mr Shyamalan's film it is a film that can be read in different ways, and it is a quite brilliant deconstruction of how a story is constructed.

Ohhh what was that about maby you can answer that sense you seem you have analyzed and interpreted the movie

Yeah, but the thing is I watched it years ago and I'd have to rewatch it to formulate a proper analysis/interpretation. But like I said, all of M. Night Shyamalan's films from The Sixth Sense to The Happening can be either watched at face value or enjoyed at a deeper level where the actual true meaning and philosophies of the films can be found. Lady In The Water is a film about storytelling. It shows a fairy tale and at the same time shows how a fairy tale is constructed, with the various characters of the film being allegories, literally plot points and the character played by Shyamalan himself, obviously the author, the creator.
