Worst excuse ever?

A French singer used to the number one spot in the charts and sales in the hundreds of thousands was sent crashing back to Earth when her sixth album couldn't crack the top 50 and sold less than ten thousand copies in three months.

When a reporter asked her about these abysmal sales during an interview, the hasbeen unleashed the following gem: "Maybe it's because as I grow older, the public realizes that they're growing older too, and they don't like that".

Wow, just, wow. Is it me or is that not one of the worst excuses ever uttered?

Maybe it's because her music just wasn't as good?
More likely it's that she HAS grown older and her music has stayed the same, while societies tastes have grown and changed.
