It used to be that summer TV schedules were jam-packed with network reruns. But thanks to cable TV, viewers get to see new shows all year round. Of course, that means the hot summer months are filled with the requisite number of hits and misses. Example? Bristol Palin's new reality show, "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp."

bristol palin life s a trip

But the most surprising premiere of the last few weeks was a good one: Charlie Sheen’s new sitcom “Anger Management.” The “winning” actor did just that in the show’s debut: drawing a record setting 2.65 million viewers in the key 18-49 demographic. That might ultimately get chalked up to lookie-loos who wanted to watch Sheen crash and burn and won’t be back for more. But time will tell. Other instant crowd favorites include the “Dallas” reboot and the heatedly debated Aaron Sorkin show “The Newsroom.”

But there are far more missteps than slam dunks so far this summer. Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol would have been better off staying in Alaska and enjoying the view of Russia from her back yard. Her move to Los Angeles, which was documented in her reality show “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp,” got pulled from Lifetime’s primetime lineup after just two episodes.

The much debated rip-off shows “The Duets” and “The Glass House,” which were too heavily compared to “The Voice” and “Big Brother” respectively, are both performing poorly as well. And the CW has had two major misfires with their unscripted shows “The Catalina” and “Pointe Break.” Yes, there are a lot of unpopular new series' that are probably worth skipping when programming your DVR. But we wonder: What’s the worst summer TV show of them all?

You make a show about a 21 year old mother who's the daughter of a washed up ex-governor of Alaska?

Then to make it better you give two washed up skanks a tv show about them living in a firehouse and being in a relationship guys and finally "Tying down"?

America, what is wrong with you?

Why does the newsmedia keep Saying Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house? She never said that. It was Tina Fey impersonating her on Saturday Night Live who said that. Anyone with an once of brain and not the newsmedia knows you can see Russian land from the West coast of Alaska. That is what Sarah actually said.

This was an extreemly tough choice. Snooke and Bristol are two of the biggest wastes of skin on the planet. That I am even answering this question goes against just about everything I believe in... But I think Bristol is worse. They are putting a kid on TV who is famouse for doing everything her mother doesn't believe in. Pre marital sex, illigitimate child, little or no education, getting ahead through hard work. It is sad that there is enough television time that they have to play any reality shows and these sure do scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Bristol Palin....just another brainless walking easy-access reproductive tract grubbing for easy cash. I dislike her for the same reason I dislike snooki or whatever; They make women in general look pretty bad.

Yeah... all that work women did back in the 60s and 70s undone by some idiot kids in 2012. It has infiltrated everything too. Even the great and powerful Rush Limbaugh just last week was saying this country went to hell when women were given the right to vote. There really is a war going on against women. If I am drafted, I will fight for you.

Thanx 4 saying! The thing is, women need to smarten up and stop letting ourselves go down media-slut alley. A little self-respect and dignity would this right up, yes?

Baby, as long as you are wearing a short skirt, I will follow you anywhere. But really... I agree 100%. You are always going to have women/girls who go that route but that doesn't mean you are all cut from the same cloth. Equal rights and respect isn't something that should have to be earned, it is a right and should have been give to you. But you have so many conservatives with the idea that women should be barefoot and pregnant at home and Limbaugh with his femanatzi crap... I don't know how you fight it.

Thanks for saying!! Short skirt, with side-slit = Military backup...got it. lol
You make some good points, and I do agree. As for the Conservative view you point out and Limbaugh's...well...
The barefoot+pregnant school of thought I ignore as all they do is embarrass themselves in epic fashion everytime they open their mouths, so they're their own worst problem. ;-)
Feminazis...I can actually say I loathe them more than Limbaugh ever could!! They're revolting, stupid, blind, misogynistic in a deeply twisted way, and the single worst thing to happen to the feminine gender in the 20th and 21st centuries.
They bray they speak for all women--not me they don't, and I've had to shut a few up in the past by calling them on their delusionally abusive garbage-speak and their undermining any progress in gender relations with their habitual and criminal slander and libel against males.
I fight them by calling them on their crap, and making them back it up while refusing to be shouted-down by them. I'm about Universal Human Rights and Recognition of Sentience with gender as a non-issue. Too much squabbling about it, don't you think?
It's simple; Men & Women each have different strengths and weaknesses, only together with the strengths of one shielding the weaknesses of the other can this specie...

Neither gender is superior in the end analysis.

I have never even heard of those the rest of those, but my sister is constantly watching that "Snookin and JWoww" crap.

When I was at a friend's house, her mom was watching it and said, "You know, this show is great." And I asked her why, and she said, "Because it is hard to believe people could be so stupid!" Amen, Mrs. R!

Duets was a terrible attempt by ABC to cash in on the successful realty singing contest genre. We have enough singing competitions. We don't need anymore.

i think that it is NOT ok for a son to kiss his mommy on the lips AT ANY AGE ... well, maybe under 5, but i don't even like that ... lip-to-lip kisses are for adults who are not related to each other (except by marriage) IMHO ...

I agree. I think it would cause sexual confusion in the little boy and that he might someday develop sexual thoughts toward his mother.

It is worse at my age I find it without social redeeming value, and just plain stupid. None of these people in reality TV have any talent. They are known for poor behavior and that is supposed to make them a celebrity. Back in my day they would have been a misfit and castigated off the air.

I doubt that even 20 years ago they'd have been allowed on the air to begin with, let alone any earlier in TV history. We're just unlucky enough to be alive during this 'phase' of TV's growth as a medium. I shudder to think what glorious light 'snooki' or whatever her name is brings to the world of Motherhood...
