Elizabeth Olsen, the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, is finally getting her chance to shine.
Elizabeth appears in two independent films this year called "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and "Peace, Love and Misunderstanding." Elizabeth, 21, has never acted previously.
Wait, wait, back up. The Olsen twins have a sister?
It looks like Elizabeth was waiting to witness the last desperate breaths of her sisters' acting careers to get her own started. If she's looking to avoid the watered-down, heavily franchised fate of Mary-Kate and Ashley, independent film is definitely one way to go.
"Martha Marcy May Marlene," in which Elizabeth will play the lead role, is about a woman who seeks refuge from a cult at her older sister's house. She will be acting alongside John Hawkes, Sarah Paulson and Hugh Dancy.
With the same genes as her sisters, and none of the public baggage, this could be a fresh start for the Olsen name. We wonder if there are any more would-be actors hiding out at the Olsen house.
