Justin Bieber will be the star of the next installment in Bluewater Productions' "FAME" series, which has already released biographical comics about Kristen Stewart, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Robert Pattinson.
Explaining why Bieber was selected for the next issue, writer Tara Broeckel compared Bieber's fame to Beatlemania, saying, "Today's teens and tweens go wild for Justin, and rightly so. He is a talented young musician. He has such an enormous global fan base. That and his talent will probably give him some real staying power in the industry."
The comic will focus on Bieber's rise to stardom through self-promotion over YouTube, and the beginning stages of his career.
Bluewater Productions is known for producing nonfiction comic books about everyone from Hollywood celebrities to "women in the media" and "hard rock heroes." So far, Bluewater's "FAME" series has quickly sold out on every issue it has released.
Founder and president of Bluewater Productions Darren Davis said, "With the 'FAME' series, and our other biographical titles, we have succeeded in exposing comic books to readers who otherwise wouldn't pick up, say, an issue of Spider-Man. I’m certain that our Justin Bieber comic will do the same."
