Microsoft finally announced an approximate release date for the upcoming sequel to its best-selling combat series. "Halo 4" is scheduled to come out on November 6, more than five years after the release of the last game in the series. Developers expect it to be an enormous success, and given the success of "Halo 3" ($300 million in its first week), there's a good chance they're right.

According to The New York Daily News, Microsoft Studio Vice President Phil Spencer said, "We are beginning a new saga with Halo 4 and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences. With "Halo 4" leading the charge, we are confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history." Will you partake in some "Halo 4"?

There will probably be a trailer or something on May 2nd. Anything now would just be speculation. I hope we get more vietnam in COD. We only got 3 maps that were vietnam in black ops and ONE zombie map. Yet Cuba is only ONE level but it got 6 maps!

There was more to the history behind Vietnam and the Cold War, they never went too in depth with the story. Hopefully they do that since WWII stories were huge.

I hope we get some more Vietnam in Black Ops 2. Treyarch said Call of Duty put WW2 to bed when they finished World at War. I actually prefer Treyarch over Infity Ward. The only problem with WAW was they were limited by the WW2 setting. HOPEFULLY the Marines will return in Black Ops 2 because they were only in COD4 and WAW.

But wasn't CoD4 part of the Modern Warfare franchise? True enough about Treyarch. However, there were plenty of people unimpressed by Black Ops. I would like to see a Black Ops 2 in the future. Something that will slowly close out Vietnam and move on to something just a little more darker. The Cold War had so much private material that was barely touched on. Nobody really knew what happened behind the curtain. Everything is shrouded in secrets. So it would be cool to create a story behind a soldier fighting in a secret war. Give it more of a Cold War theme is all.

EVERY Modern Warfare has a Cold War theme. Even Battlefield 3! The bad guys are ALWAYS Russian and ALWAYS Spetznaz. Last time I checked our current enemies are Arabs/Persians and North Korea. But because our current enemies are non-white the politically correct enemies are ALWAYS Russian. What about Russians? Aren't they sick of being typecast as Ex-KGB Spetznaz badguys in EVERY media.

True. Things happen everywhere in every country, but why single one country out? Right now, they're best bet is to start making games that are more current to the times.

1: with games like borderlands and fallout, Masterchief is definetely not that ig a deal.
2. I'm a Playstation guy.
3. Only 2 weapons? LAME.
4. Halo Heads are among the worst video game nerds ever, and never shut up about the game. Seriously. This entire franchise is ok at best.
5. The storyline is boring... and it will always have a terrible single player campaign because they cheaply cop out on an excellent multiplayer. Shooters need an actual game in the game..... damn it!

Microsoft has control of the game. If you go Bungie's website you will find that they are highering PS3 devlopers. Their next game will be available on the Xbox and the PS3.

Probably not, at least not if they expect me to pay for it. I enjoyed the original Halo, it was great fun and a wonderful adventure. Then came the sequel which while it didn't quite suck, they was nothing special about it either. That is when I stopped looking at Halo.

A friend of mine, actually the person who got me to buy and play the first Halo bought all the sequels and was terribly disappointed. So as far as I'm concerned their record isn't so good, as a result I'm not going to risk an investment into another Halo sequel.
