Andy Roddick officially announced his retirement, with a loss to Juan Martin del Potro in the 4th round of the U.S. Open. But he certainly went out with a lot of achievements under his belt.
Some of them include 1) finishing in the top 10 of the end-of-year ATP rankings nine straight years (2002-2010), 2) winning at least one title in 12 consecutive years, 3) winning one Grand Slam -- US Open in 2003 -- but making the finals of four others, 4) being the world's No. 1 for a short stint in 2003 before Roger Federer began dominating, 5) winning 32 ATP-level tournaments, including five Masters 1000 tournaments, 6) landing 19th on the all-time list in Open men's tennis in career tournament victories, 7) landing second in all-time Davis Cup rubber wins with 32 (John McEnroe is in first), 8) leading the U.S. to Davis Cup win in 2007 and 9) being the 19th player in ATP history to acquire 600 career wins. Will you miss Andy Roddick?

Chants of "Let’s go, Andy!" rang out between points during the last service game of his career, and again before the start of what would wind up as the last return game.

Catita 2012/09/08 03:29:24No+5the first time I heard about this tennis player was when he did such a display of arrogance in the US Open 2002, I believed, when he played with Sampras, the typical punk, and he lost that game. Never like him, didn't like his game, didn't like his attitude, the mannerism he developed on the court, etc., Roddick made a big spectacle of his retirement when he just was, according to many, a mediocre player with only a couple of slams associated to his name. I will not missed him.

Yes, will miss but one mans end is someone else's beginning ! Plus - what a hunk
of a man is he!! Hot. Beauty n Money n Fame. !!! Wow.
whatever about this tennis player i've never heard of, sure let him enjoy his retirement, but i can honestly say that we have had greater losses this month.
BUt if the tradeoff is Brooklyn Decker...........
