I wish they had thrown the book at the cretin. (Edwards). Had he gotten the nomination, we all know this would have come out and we could have just skipped the rest of the campaign and gone straight to the innauguration of McCain and the twit. He had my support in the beginning as well as my vote and to think that such a jerk would have been the final choice is beyond all reason.

Normally I would agree JohnT with your own "take" on this issue. Did you catch her the other night in her interview? I thought of all of them, she made the most sense, including the late Mrs. Edwards.

I saw most of it, and she was on GMA this morning. She is still a flake that knew he was married and stil charged ahead. Sorry I just don't care for her.

In the end, we just can't get past the fact that Hunter became involved with a married man and then it not being a one night stand, a child came out of their laison. We normally tend to believe that its the predatory woman who is at fault, but in the end, it was his stupid, thoughtless actions, who had the most to lose and lose it he did. Any chance for a political career, probably never being looked at with respect again, a "love child" who will innocently grow up always the center of attention and not in the best of ways and a country who views him with nothing but contempt.

They are both guilty. He is the biggest louse in the whole situation. I cannot get past that guy fooling around while his wife is sick with cancer. What kind of empty person does that? Rielle Hunter was no innocent she has tried to make herself look better than she is. Like you I feel for the child, and do hope they both fade into the abyss so that the child can live a normal life.

I didn't know until her interview that this affair started before he ever declared his candidacy. I always thought it was during his campaign. I'm not excusing her a bit for her being with a married man, but his own lack of moral integrity and expecting to lead this country and keeping the sham a secret shows what a narcissistic jackass he really is.

She became known to Edwards's people on the campaign trail. She showed up at a hotel restaurant one night during the campaign, and it appeared to the staff that Edwards had known her for quite some time, even though she and Edwards pretended they had just met. The book Game Change reveals a lot of insiders' views on her. According to the book, she would introduce herself as a witch to bigwig donors. Who knows what Edwards was thinking.

Boy Edwards sure must have had loyal staff who were ready to take a bullet for him too, didn't he? Andrew Young even had the insane notion to "claim" the child as his own and he married himself with a family. What fool would do that, but better yet, what fool of a wife would allow him too?
