All the pieces are in place: The sanctions have been lifted, Matt Barkley returns as a fourth year starter at quarterback, the team is ranked No. 3 before the season starts (some polls have them at No. 1), nine offensive starters and eight defense starters are back in 2012. Can the boys from Troy get it done this year?

Besides.......GOOOOO Dawgs!
What is the record of USC playing against SEC teams? According to historical college football data the record is 17-10-1 as of 2007. Wish I had something more recent but it is unavailable at this time. Those with stats for USC versus Sec teams since 2007, please leave comments with a link to your information.
These numbers show that USC has a losing record against 2 SEC teams which are Alabama and Florida. 2-5 versus Alabama and 0-1-1 against Florida. The reason why teams from the Pac 12 have success on a large scale is the tough out of conference play. I know, the SEC loves to say they play tough teams and within their own conference, each team beats up on the other. I actually believe this to be true to a point. The Sec starts each season with a whole lot of votes from sports writers and media who believe the hype that the Sec is the best conference and teams from it should be regarded highly in polls......Once again, I have to agree. They have proven to be the best and until somebody can beat them, this is just the truth! The Bcs Title is never far from reach.....
What make USC special?

I dont really know if USC is special, but what I do understand, is other teams do not want to play them. This has always been one of those college teams that finds a way to win. A history of excellence that each player understands and is not willing to settle for less.
Why does USC have a winning record against the SEC overall when they have the best teams? Because USC is scary and even the mighty SEC knows this much. Does that mean Alabama or say LSU couldn't beat them? No, of course not. They just bring some swagger and ability that the SEC has not faced in a few years.
Go Tide Go...!!!
