It's been a rough road back to the World Series for the New York Yankees. Standing in the way of the American League East winners are the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers took a commanding two games to one game lead in the AL Division Series on Monday -- and they need just one more win to eliminate the Bronx Bombers from the playoffs and advance to the AL Championship Series. The winner of the ALCS goes onto the World Series.
All hope isn't lost for the Yankees, though. As baseball fans saw with the razor-thin wild card race between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, anything can happen.
Inconsistent postseason Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett is expected to take the mound Tuesday night in Game 4. According to ESPN.com, Joe Girardi says Burnett will be "on a very short leash." That's a good thing. That is, if the Yankees had anyone else to star in his place.
On the bright side for New York, Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello will make his postseason debut in Game 4 and is unproven in high pressure situations. Regardless, it wasn't Burnett's fault Tigers ace Justin Verlander recorded 11 strikeouts in eight innings in Game 3.
Game 4 begins tonight at 8:37p.m./ET on TBS.

10-1
Much as I hate to say it, the Evil Empire has a pretty good shot at winning Game FIVE and making it back to the ALCS.(where the Texas Rangers will make short work of them.
PS: Go Phillies !!!
Actually, they have. Yankees 10, Tigers 1.
What is "game 4" =?
Granderson is still one of my favorite players no matter who he plays for, he is just a plain good person that tries his best every game. Even if the Yanks win we still have a good team that kicked some butt this year, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. You never know with the tigers, they can be hot or cold but if they're hot and Fister pitches the way he was during the regular season, the Yankees will have their hands full.
You're right about Fister. He can, but will he? That's the question. He's had a hard time with the Yanks when he was in Seattle but there he got no run support at all. I think it will turn out to be an interesting game none the less.
