Will the Green Bay Packers Go Undefeated?

The Green Bay Packers are 9-0, stacked as heck, NFC North division leaders, have the best record in the NFL, and are the defending Super Bowl champions, who could certainly repeat this postseason. Now onto the big question: Can the Packers go undefeated throughout the entire regular season and playoffs to do what no team has done since the 1972 Miami Dolphins?

That remains to be seen, but one famous (and at times, infamous) Dolphins legend and 1972 team alum likes what he sees thus far. “I have nothing but good things to say about the Green Bay Packers," said former Dolphins running back and motivational speaker Eugene "Mercury" Morris, in an interview with FOXSportsFlorida.com.

"If they end up in our neighborhood, they’re a credit to the sport [of football]. They don’t have a bunch of guys out there who view themselves as entertainers. I didn’t like the way [the 2007 New England Patriots who won all games but the Super Bowl] came across. They were too much in your face. They wanted you to bow down to them and kiss the king’s ring.”

Just because Morris is impressed with the Packers and welcomes them to his neighborhood should they go undefeated, does not mean he wants fans and the media to forget his team's place in football history. “I don’t want to hear from the pundits that they’re going to pass us,” Morris said. “We were the first team to do it. They’d be the second team. They won’t be better than us just because they won 19 games [and we won 17].” The Packers look to continue their perfect season when the champs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Well, I could hope so. Wish there had been a MAYBE option.

I hope they go as close to undefeated as possible just cause that would make Favre look like a bigger whining sissy pants then he already was.

As a huge packer fan I must say, it is more important not to lose to the Bears, Vikings or Lions than go undefeated.

I'm a Lions fan, but when a team goes 11-0, I cheer for them anyway.

Hope they do go all the way to the Superbowl. which is in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2012. Certainly the Colts won't be there. Wish the Bears could make it again, but not against Green Bay.

As an 11 year fan of the Miami Dolphins it is in my nature to hope they do not go undefeated and I do not think they will. Every team is circling the Packers on their calander in hopes of being that first and maybe only team to defeat the Packers this year. However, if they were to go undefeated I think I could stomach it alot better than if the Patriots had done it a few years ago .

No, there should only be 1 undefeated team in the history of the NFL. It should only be the 1972 Dolphins because they had a bunch of no namers and went undefeated unlike the current Green Bay Packers.

arron rodgers is way to good if he got hurt then yes even though their defense is horrible the patriots never really had that good of a defense either did the colts it was the qb that got them there. detroit i think is the only team that may have a shot because their defense is good. packers will repeeat even if they lose a game or 2

look at the past history of how teams did that approached a undefeated season. They will rest players and boom, a lose.

Sooner or later they will lose. Even if they go 16 and 0 they will have trouble in the playoffs.

They don't play SF all season, but the Packers will get their a$$es whooped by the 49ers in the Super Bowl!

I suppose you don't follow the projections. SF (9/1) may very well be in the Super Bowl. Their obvious rival might very well be GB, (10/1). Unless wildcard teams prevail, that's how it stands.

before you start making speaches you might want to look at who plays in the superbowl, it is a AFC and a NFC team, since both SF and GB are both in the NFC the only way they would meet is at Green Bay where Rodgers would give you QB lessions on how to be a QB and not a mere team manager. So then, if SF takes the Lombardi Trophy into their hands, what is the NFC going to do?

Their division is too competitive, but if they do go undefeated that would be impressive. More impressive than the 49ers potential 15-1 mark. That division is #(($&%^^#*@(.

The Packers are a great team but no matter how amazing Rodgers is playing their Defense just isn't playing up to last year. Not only that but the only team to do it was back in '72 and they were balanced on Offense and Defense.

The Lions are playing way better this year and they beat the Pack @Detroit last year and almost beat them at Lambeau last year.... the Lions have a huge losing streak at Lambeau that will end eventually... they play @Green Bay last week of season. Thanksgiving will have the 10 Packers (or 9-1 if they lose Sunday) against a 7-3 Lions team @Ford Field coming off what is assurred to be an ass kicking of the Panthers Sunday at home. If the Packers don't lose Sunday they WILL LOSE on Thanksgiving! Count on it!

Can they? Yes. They have the talent and the coaching. Will they? That remains to be seen. There's still some tough opposition between them and the title. One way or the other, I expect they'll be the most fun to watch this season.

what do you mean the 49ers aren't doing well? They are the 2nd best team in the league with an 8-1 record and FIVE games left against the weak as hell NFC West division!!!!

I know it I was being sarcastic. They're doing great. They'v pwned every other team in their conference and a lot of teams in the NFC.

If the Bears couldn't beat the Packers in Chicago with Cutler, you can't like their chances in Green Bay without him.
