After starting the 2011 NFL season at 6-2, the New York Giants have now lost three straight and are rapidly falling out of playoff contention. Historically, since head coach Tom Coughlin was hired by the team in 2004, the Giants have always started off strong the first of the season, only to fade in the second half. While that's not too bad when you're making playoff appearances and still winning division titles, it is bad if and when you miss the playoffs.
The Giants were demolished by the New Orleans Saints on Monday night 49-24. Now at 6-5 with three consecutive losses, the Giants are behind Detroit and Atlanta in the NFC Wild Card race. It wasn't so much as quarterback Eli Manning playing bad as it was not capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Also, playing arguably the second-best team in the NFC didn't do the Giants any favors either.
There's no shame in losing to NFC powerhouses San Francisco and New Orleans, but losses to lowly teams such as Seattle, Philadelphia, and Washington highlight how inconsistent the Giants have been all season. With Coach Coughlin in the final year of his contract, another year sitting at home during the playoffs is one he can't afford if he expects to be back next season.

Actually, considering how poorly this division is playing right now, they MIGHT have a shot to get into the post-season, but, if they do, they'll be ousted in the first round.
believe they have a better chance of getting into playoffs.
Giants have good QB and head coach. but a lot of new faces and some not playing up to playoff caliber. maybe secondary coaching and offense coaching needs a refresh too,
they need to do some weeding in their garden first!!!!
Geaux Saints!!
One thing Big Blue always did was go out and play with heart and intensity win or lose and I just don't see them doing that even with the games they won(with the exception of the Patriots game).
Even though they loss they played their asses off against San Francisco but after that it was all down hill.
It is no one persons fault. People want to blame Eli entirely but when you look at all the dropped passes from Ballard, Manningham and Hicks when the ball was practically implanted into their hands and or chest there is no excuse for that. The other problem is our running game or lack there of. Sorry to say it but Brandon Jacobs just sucks. He was pissed about losing his position to Bradshaw so this would be a good time to show what you got. Obviously he doesn't have what it takes. Ware may have the potential but he is not consistent either. Then their is the Offensive Line, where the hell is Eli's protection? We have a lot of injuries and a lot of new guys that are still getting the feel of being starters but I won't use that as an excuse because we have been in this situation before.

There was also some shady play calling that needs to be looked into. Especially against the Eagles, We made two 4th down conversions in the 4th quarter and then the last play of the game we attempted another but running the ball for two yards with no running game was absurd!!!! I mean even if Bradshaw was in the game I still would of passed because passing gives you a lot more options then running the ball when you know it is a do or die situation. Bad call all around.
Thank the lord for Victor Cruz and hopefully Ballard can redeem himself because he was looking good prior to the Phili game.It looks like a another work in progress season.
at least not as the division leader, wouldn't mind seeing them make it as a wild card though (don't care for the north)
