The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, in NBA preseason action by a final score of 114-95. While preseason doesn't matter long-term as far as wins and losses, the games can give fans a preview of what's to come. Clippers stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul shined in the game. Lakers forward Ron Artest, now known as Metta World Peace, did not -- scoring just three points.
Kobe Bryant was his usual impressive self with 22 points, showing little-to-no rust after the long delay because of the NBA lockout earlier this year. For decades, the Lakers have been the number one team in all of Los Angeles. The media attention, celebrities in attendance, and championships all come with the Lakers package. The Clippers, outside of a couple of good seasons, have always been known as the red-headed step child of the city.
With three All-Star level players in Paul, Griffin, and former Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups, the Clippers have put together arguably their most impressive team in franchise history. Nothing can change the miserable past of the Clippers franchise or the fact that the Lakers won five championships with Bryant, but this NBA season can decide LA basketball's future. Could the new Clippers dethrone the Lakers as the NBA's best team in LA and possibly in the league?

Go Clippers.
Coby is going to have a big year anyways.
He used to coach Da Bills when Jordan was playing, right. If I remember correctly he's a nice looking Silver Fox! ☺
That was so girly. Watched the games & only remember how attractive the coach was. But I only enjoy watching the Lakers because Pau Gasol looks so goofy (and therefore funny)
No one's laughing at that idea now....
the best sports have to offer each year for me... live streaming all matches too..
NCAA got this one right...bark
I don't understand why everyone's getting so hyped up about the Clippers.
That's exactly what happened to the Miami Heat ("Oh, they have ALL the star players now. Theyre gonna go far!") and look where they went. :/ Come on now.
The only reason the Clippers could be better than the Lakers this year is because the Lakers lost Lamar Odom and Shannon Brown.
The trade didn't go through and he played Monday night.
Keeping him is huge, but they still gave away too much!
And it shows.....
