The Chicago Bears cannot be considered a disappointment this season. With the Green Bay Packers tearing through the entire NFL at 8-0, it looks like the Cheeseheads will win the NFC North. But that doesn't mean the Chicago Bears can't snatch a wild card spot. While this season has started up and down for Chicago, the team showed great resilience on Monday Night Football, rally back to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 30-24.

At 5-3, the Bears are far from a great team, but they do have the most breakout potential when quarterback Jay Cutler is on his A-game and on the same page with his wide receivers. "All you ever hear is DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin and all of the plays that they can make," Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett said regarding Philadelphia's playmakers and the criticism Chicago's offense receives. "So, we just wanted to go out there, make some plays, and prove the critics wrong."
With the win over Philadelphia, the Bears are now in the sixth and final playoff spot in the NFC -- for now. There are eight games to go and the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, among others, may be nipping at their heels. With the mental toughness the often-criticized Bears showed last night, fans should be encouraged. Then again, the performance came against the NFL's most disappointing team. We'll see what happens when the spotlight gets bigger and the stakes get higher for head coach Lovie Smith's squad.

So please, Bears, do it for the party.

Smashmouth is da game~win or lose, tie up those cleets and screw those 5 grand fines from the NFL front office...
No offense intended :)
That's why I love Yogi-isms..."it ain't over, till it's over." Words to live by.
chicago is a solid team though, and would probably win most divisions. Green Bay is just solid this year. it'll be tough to get past them, although often times teams with so much regular season hype and success (as the packers have this year) start to decline in the postseason. teams get more film of them figure out how to stop them, and since they havent had to make many adjustments during their regular season tenure they can have a lot of difficulty adjusting in a second half to a team that has discoverd possible weaknesses.
Biggest mistake Pat Bowlen ever made was getting rid of Shanahan. The Bronco's haven't been the same since.
Raiders vs Broncos is always a good game,..,. especially in Oakland.
It is good to see them finally doing well. That was a long drought after Barry Sanders retired. I still can't understand why he never played for anyone else.
HAPPY 236th BIRTHDAY
