Will 'The Avengers' Video Game Live Up to the Movie?

"The Avengers" smashed box office expectations with the biggest opening weekend box office sales on record, knocking "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" and "The Dark Knight" out of the park. Obviously, Marvel has to turn it into a video game. We'll be the first to admit, video game adaptations of movies are usually a little bit lackluster. We'd like to say this will be an exception, but we're not convinced.

"Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth" is being developed by Ubisoft, the company responsible for "Assassin's Creed" -- a very impressive and successful series. But this game is being made for the Xbox 360's motion-controlled Kinect system and the yet-unreleased Wii U console, and after that "Kinect Star Wars" game, we're skeptical to say the least. Ubisoft sales VP Tony Key says motion control is perfect because "these characters are very action oriented," but what do you think?

I really don't think these video game adaptations based on movies are to be considered award-winning games. However, they may be entertaining.

Most video games based on movies are very generic games that aren't as good as most others. The movie pays the third-party game maker to put their images over the existing characters.

Like most movie based game probably not! Only game I've actually enjoyed was one of the spiderman trilogy games don't remember which one(1 or 2?) and Wolverine Origins.

No, i dont think the avengers game will live up to the movie, the movie was pretty much the perfect comic book film, and movie beased games almost always fail to live up to the movies they are based on and besides, theres already a great avengers game, its called marvel-ultimate alliance.

As much as we all wish the games lived up to the action of the movie producers always fail to make a great game. They rush the production so the game comes out just in time for the release of the movie so that is why the games usually suck.

It really really REALLY depends....Movie is awesome, I hope the game will be too...not like a fail from Avatar game (I didn't really liked the Avatar movie either...)
