We have some good news and some bad news for you "
Twilight" fans out there. Let's start with the bad: Lionsgate, the parent studio behind the "Twilight Saga" film franchise, announced that it has no plans to remake the series in any way, shape, or form. The good: Add "unless
Stephanie Meyer says so" to the bad news. In other words, if the "Twilight" author wants reboot, she'll have it. In fact, Lionsgate sounds happy to oblige.
Summit Co-Chairman Rob Friedman told Deadline, "We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephanie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change." Unlike "
Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, who has proudly announced she would leave her film franchise alone, Meyer has not made any commitments. Do you think she'll got for it?
If you don't want to see it, then don't see it.
If she finishes that book, we may have more Twilight movies on our hands. Well possibly.
But probably not.
If they were going to do a remake, might I suggest a crossover?
I haven't seen any of the twilight movies or read the books. I just don't give a damn about them. But, I really don't see any artistic reason why you would reboot a series shortly after you completed it.
Besides, while i question some of the casting cohices (e.g. Robert Pattinson) for the most part i think they'd struggle to find new actors, and i doubt the previous ones would like to do the same role again.
