eewww!!! i would have done the same thing!!! that reporter was definitely out of line for even trying that and it was very unprofessional. im with will on this one.

Come on, sometimes people get blindsided and do things on impulse. This reporter knows Will Smith isn't gay and yet tries to kiss him? Gimme a break, I'd have slapped him too. Just because you support something doesn't mean it's your type of lifestyle.

The reporter's aggressiveness is the most objectionable when it comes to the "gay" choice. Seriously, if a straight man were to randomly attempt to kiss a female he does not know, a slap across the map is in order. This is just common sense, for goodness sake.

I watched the video and I don't think the guy was trying to kiss him on the lips.

It's customary to greet people in that country by kissing them on both cheeks.

I think Will acted like a jerk! I felt sorry for the reporter, he was excited and what Will did was uncalled for!

It wasn't even a hard slap, he seemed more surprised and annoyed than angry. Anyone would slap someone trying to kiss them, just because the intended recipient is a celebrity doesn't make it any different.

Damn I get that same reaction when I walk up to a woman on the street and try to kiss her. ;}
Will did not get angry just pushed him off and sorta lightly slapped him; jokingly and laughed it off.

Will Smith is usually pretty mellow but I think this guy( the photographer) went a little over the top. I realize men in foreign cultures often hug and sometimes kiss each other without being homosexual but to a westerner, especially an American, that type of greeting is something we,re not used to and can provoke a negative reaction.

I'm not big on hitting other people. But...I can see why Wil would have done it. Too harsh would have been if he put the guy in the hospital...coma...or killed him.
