Phil Jackson is not only the most successful basketball coach of all time, but probably the most enigmatic and unpredictable. You never know what you're going to get with the Zen Master, as far as his approach goes, but more often than not, if you're an NBA team that employs him, you will get wins. And perhaps a championship or two along the way. Jackson retired after the 2011 season as Los Angeles Lakers head coach, bringing his total NBA championship count to 11.
Jackson won six NBA championships with two separate three-peats in the 1990s with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen's Chicago Bulls. His Lakers led by Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal dominated the early 2000s, as they won three straight championships and made four NBA Finals appearances by 2004. After some conflict with Kobe and a brief hiatus, Jackson returned and won two more championships with the Lakers.
Jackson reportedly refused the Orlando Magic's offer to return to the sidelines. Meanwhile, the team of his playing days, the New York Knicks, are out of the race due to retaining coach Mike Woodson. Now the speculation continues. Will Phil Jackson, who has absolutely nothing to prove and no shortage of money, coach again next NBA season? Or is he finally ready to embrace the retired life?

- Ray 2012/06/01 19:52:03NoThe rigors of a long season at his age, not to mention his health gives me the impression he is the next Pat Riley. A GM or VP of Basketball Operations is probably something you will see go with. But he will keep close tabs and only an earshot away from players and coaches.reply
- Manster 2012/06/01 19:45:47NoIf he's still dating Jerry Buss' daughter,he'll only come back as a coach for the Lakers,If their relationship is over, then it's a possibility that he could possibly return to the bench to coach the Knicks, if the money is at a level that he simply can't refuse!reply
- ☆SPIDERPIECES☆ 2012/06/01 19:40:22NoJackson likes to take good teams and make them better.. I don't see him taking over some mediocre team. Also he commands about $11 millions per seasonreply
