For years, Perez Hilton was known as the most mercenary celebrity blogger on the Internet. In years past, the Internet gossip columnist, who was born Mario Lavandeira, went on a witch hunt to out closeted gay stars like Lance Bass and Neil Patrick Harris.

His attacks on the rich and famous became so notorious that Jennifer Aniston confronted him in a parking garage and asked him why he was so mean. The meeting proved to be life-changing for Hilton.

Not long after that, he was attacked by his detractors, who called him a hypocrite for speaking out against teen bullying. Soon, he was on “Oprah’s Lifeclass” saying that he’d had undergone a karmic cleansing and was now approaching his life and work from a more positive perspective.

His emotional transformation triggered a physical one as well and the blogger lost 70 pounds. Now he’s made the biggest change anyone could have possibly imaged. On Wednesday, Hilton announced that he’s become a father.

Earlier this month, his first son was born. As he said on his website, “My family is overjoyed at this newest and most cherished addition.” It seems he’s really ready to walk down a truly positive path. What do you think: Will Perez Hilton be a good dad?

No one is ready to be a parent, even if they think that they are. He'll be jst like the rest of us - do the best he can, learn a lot along the way and hope for the best.

What does his profession of being a nasty gossip columnist have to do with being a good father.. Nothing... He'll probably be a good father. Give the guy a break.. I've never liked him but that doesn't mean he can't be great as a father.

I can only say I hope so for the sake of the child. I do wonder, however, will the child have a mother or was this a surrogate birth, because I cannot image what woman would have a grudge on her noo noo enough to have sex with him. Yuuuuck.

Well, the thing is, I don't know. I never met Perez, and I don't know what kind of a person he is, or what values he has, or whatever. Nor do I know whether or not he'll be a good dad or not.

Maya... He has been in the news a few times. One time was for getting his butt whipped by Will-I-Am, and the other for treating the Miss America contestant so shabby. Besides that he is one ugly mother so I would hate to see anything he fathered. Is the mother a test tube?

the real question is "will perez hilton ever be a good human being?" Is this supposed reformation real or just hype? Only time will tell. I hope for the child's sake that it's for real.

Appearances can sometimes be deceiving, and where Perez Hilton is involved, he is most likely up to something other than what you see or hear.. Just remember that we are talking about someone who is lower than whale poop.

Real answer: How the hell would I, or anyone, know? So hes a jerk on the internet, or at least was. That doesn't reflect in any meaningful way on how he would act when he is taking care of a new, fragile, beloved human being. Thereis absolutely no way for us to answer this question in a meaningful way.

But he'd probably make a good mother.
He was "so mean" because he was a typically bitchy--though they call it "witty"--queer. Oscar Wilde, in his time, was a great example of the cutting "gay wit". I've known many gays in my time. They'll often say this mean stuff, then wonder why they get beat up so much. They really don't understand, so they blame it on hate; on "gay bashing", when really, if they'd just learn to keep their mouths shut....etc.
That kid's gonna end up really screwed-up. That happens to a lot of children adopted by gays.
And is he alone in this? Does he have a "life partner"? How are single celebrities allowed to adopt? Don't most agencies prefer two-parent households?
