"Obviously, the first half we didn't do anything," said New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, regarding his team's first half performance on Monday Night Football. "I don't think it could have gotten much worse." Well, Mr. Brady, it did not get worse -- but a lot better. The Patriots dominated the Kansas City Chiefs for a final score of 34-3.
The Chiefs, who were closing in on the AFC West lead just a few weeks ago, have now lost three straight games and their quarterback, Matt Cassel, is on injured reserve -- done for the season. Two out of the Chiefs' last three losses have been embarrassing. They lost in similar fashion to the lowly Miami Dolphins and are fading fast. A repeat of an AFC West division win seems highly unlikely at this point.
After the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets seemed to be closing in on the AFC East lead, the Patriots are now back on top and look to be a near lock to make the playoffs. With recent wins over the division rival Jets and the Chiefs, along with the Bills' falling apart in the second half, life just got easier for New England football fans.
Next up for the 7-3 Patriots are the Philadelphia Eagles on November 27. The Eagles' playoff hopes may be out of reach, but as they showed the New York Giants, do not count them out. Something tells us Brady and company will be aware of that.

I do not like Tom Brady, so I hope the team does not have success.
