Will LeBron Ever Return to Cleveland?

Miami Heat All-Star LeBron James never ceases to make headlines. Whether it's his supposed lack of leadership, his tweets or just about anything else, it's always a story. This time though, LeBron has nobody to blame but himself. The Miami Heat player was recently quoted saying that he won't rule out a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers -- the team that originally drafted him.

It's also the same Cavaliers team that LeBron abruptly left in Summer 2010, when he waited until going on national TV to tell them and their fan base he was leaving and "taking his talents to South Beach." You can admire LeBron's honesty when he said he could possibly return to the Cavaliers one day, even if the divorce was ugly and very public.

We don't think Miami fans want to hear that though. The Heat is currently one of the top teams in the league, coming off of an NBA Finals berth last season. Some fans will argue that with All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh playing alongside him, the last thing LeBron should be thinking of is playing somewhere else. But it's something to think about. Do you think LeBron James will ever return to the Cleveland Cavaliers?

If he does he should wear an armored vest. The fans don't want him playing for the Cavs.

He isn't well liked in Cleveland.

This is James typical "I've got to be in the headlines" move. Two years before his contract ended with the Cavs, he said he loved New York. And did he go to NY? So once again, two years before the end of another contract he will talk & talk & talk.

How would anyone in the general public know what he will do? but I, for one, am happy that a celebrity said what was on his mind. it may or may not have been a smart move, but sounds like an off-the-cuff remark that was not created for him by any public relations people from the Heat or his manager or anyone else. I congratulate Mr. James for his candor.

Lebron got some bad advice he doesn't have a male role model in his life(kinda like when M.J.'s father was murdered and he went and tried to play pro baseball) he talks things over with his mother that is his main support system. He now understands he made the wrong choice and he wants to go home,he can win 7 NBA titles in Miami and he will not be loved the way he was in Cleveland and Ohio for that matter, the whole thing is more than what the media or people outside of Ohio understand. We raised Lebron the whole state not just Cleveland had his back and had love for him. It was a hard lesson to learn but now I think he gets it.

What? Wants to come home? Dude the bottom line is that he is "rich" as hell and could care less what the entire state of Ohio thinks at all... Now I am not a Miamai or a Cleveland fan so nothing has weighed in on my opinion here.... By the way, GO I.U.

I agree with you on the whole Iraq thing and I knew I had made a mistake after about two years in but the Army is one of those things you have to try first and if you do not like it to bad for you your stuck. We all knew we were being used but we were young and dumb and 1200$ a month was more money than any of us had ever had. Yeah we were pawns in a rich mans game, people were beyond pissed about it but you never get to hear any active duty person say so. Those service people in the media are all hand picked and coached on what to say. The whole lebron thing pissed me off because he showed no loyalty he was already filthy rich before he went to miami, he could brought so much revenue to cleveland and others could have made a good living off the cavs now miami has three superstars generating revenues while cleveland has none. When I was in the Army I hated it most of us did and couldnt wait for our ETS dates to arrive, but we said we would fight when called and we all did. We didnt cry when it got hard or say we want to go be with our friends back home and go to college, Lebron said he was going to bring a title to cleveland but when things got tough he showed his true color yellow.

If he never wins his elusive beloved championship ring i think he will come crawling back. They are the ones that made him and his family is there.

Next time he's a free agent, no he wont. He'll return to Cleveland but not before he's on his farewell run, when he's coming to the end of his career and still has something to offer a team.

Only on a visiting team! He gave them 5 years and they didn't get him a team. He went where he got the best deal, maybe a championship. Cleveland will just have to get over it.

Cleveland is rebuilding with a far more sustainable team anyway. I hope they do well, except when they play the Lakers.

Cleveland has moved on and any additions to the team will be required to be able to produce a WINNER. I don't see LeGone fitting the prototype.

  • Tennessee3501 2012/02/20 17:51:48
I doubt that Cleveland would want him back! He slapped Cleveland around like Chris Brown "slapped" Rhianna! Some things should not be forgiven.

when lebron said he may move his talent to cleveland, the miami fans thought he was sending dwyane wade to the cavaliers.

Don't look back, LeBron...we're not. You wanted the "Heat" - so take the "Heat".
    Cleveland was cool before you.
Cleveland is still cool with you gone.
    Let it burn...

It's not his choice. It's Clevelands choice. He can stay in Miami. Let them deal with his (lack of) talent.

Forget him and his enormous ego. He epitomizes everything that is wrong with professional sports.
