Best-selling author J.K. Rowling will forever be synonymous with Harry Potter. Rowling's most famous series of books and characters has made her a multi-millionaire, entrepreneur, and an inspiration to anyone that knows her rags to riches story. After seven Harry Potter books, eight movies, and countless merchandise, Rowling is ready to take the next step in her career.

That next step comes in the form of Rowling's upcoming adult novel titled "The Casual Vacancy." While Rowling had enormous success with Harry Potter in a number of demographics, this will be the first book she will be releasing for a specific age group. According to Rowling, it will be a completely different book from the Potter series, in a whole other world. No Muggles and Wizards in her newest read, kids.

Two million copies of "The Casual Vacancy" will be shipped to U.S. bookstores on September 27. It will also be simultaneously released digitally and in hardcover in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Even if Rowling's newest read is a well-written masterpiece, it may be nearly impossible to match the success of Potter. But that doesn't mean "The Casual Vacancy" won't be successful at all.

Of course, although Harry Potter was absolutely amazing, she will as she is that good of an Author. I do hope she writes more Harry Potter though it is unlikely.

Seriously harry potter could be better. I mean i would most definitely read a prequel about the fore founders of hogwarts. Hufflepuff and ravenclaw barely had any character development and it was always the grandiose griffyndor vs the evil slytherin. I mean she could write and entire book series on the adventures of snape or dumbledore but she doesnt

Yes. She already has a name for herself. Anything she writes will be a success. Of course, those books might not sell the same amounts as the Harry Potter series. Her new books will still sell though for no other reason than they're written by J.K. Rowling.

I say Yes. JUST from the HUGE amount of fame she ALREADY has from writing those Harry Potter books will help thrust/boost her into the spotlight once her NEW book comes out. She will probably have EVERY Editor review her NEW book and probably be mentioned on the front page of EVERY news column and BookStore/Website.

P.S. Her NEW book might NOT (and I hope it does) make as MUCH money as her Harry Potter Books simply because her Harry Potter Books attracted EVERY audience and her NEW book is ONLY attracting/filling a certain audience/niche. I still think her NEW book will be EXTREMELY popular EVEN if it's NOT as popular as her Harry Potter Books, her NEW book will STILL be VERY successful.

Of course anything she writes now won't make near as much as Harry Potter, but I know she'll have tons of success with basically anything she does.

My college essay on Harry Potter got me a lot of scholarship money, so I am pretty grateful she wrote it!

Yes. Maybe not as big a hit as with her first series, but I don't see why she wouldn't. I mean, yeah, Harry Potter was nothing new to Fantasy fans, and I personally was not impressed with it, but it wasn't horrid by any means.

Well, I'm not sure if she will but she shouldn't. She is not a good auther and Harry Potter, in my opinion, is very badly written. I do not understand her success and do not believe her work should've gotten so huge. She has enough money as it is.

Surely you aren't referring to her SINGLE NOVEL "A Casual Vacancy" which was the fastest-selling book in the United Kingdom in three years and became the 15th best-selling book of 2012 during its first week of release with generally positive reviews?
