The New Orleans Saints have had a ton of bad luck this offseason. Almost all of it stems from BountyGate, which has led to suspensions of numerous NFL players and personnel, including head coach Sean Payton, Jonathan Vilma, and former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Luckily for Payton, unless more news leaks about BountyGate, he will be back as head coach next season. Whether he'll have an All-Pro quarterback to lead his team back to the Super Bowl is another story.
According to ProFootballTalk.com, Saints quarterback and former Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees told WWL Radio in New Orleans that contract talks with the franchise have been a headache. “It's been extremely frustrating for me,” Brees said in an interview with WWL. “I don't think the negotiation should have been this difficult.” But much like the rest of the Saints offseason, it's become quite difficult.
While we've reminded readers Brees was still trying to work out a new deal, most thought there would be no way the Saints would let him go to another team. Since 2006, Brees has not only transformed into a future Hall of Fame quarterback, but also helped give birth to a winning culture that the Saints franchise has rarely seen. He brought owner Tom Benson and the people of New Orleans their first Super Bowl title in 2009-10 and it's safe to say he'd love a few more tries to bring another trophy or two home. The Saints will have a lot of explaining to do if they continue to let Drew Brees become more disgruntled.

BEES?
If I'm Tom Benson, and my teams season effectively doesn't exist for 2012-13, I might be considering forfeiting the season. Getting injured will add insult under these circumstances.
A related question for you folk: How do the Saints salvage any kind of season under these conditions? Playoffs? SB? Not likely.
