Will Chris Brown Accept CM Punk's Challenge?

On Tuesday, we focused on the unique and unexpected Twitter beef between Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown and professional wrestler Phil "CM Punk" Brooks. Well, things just took an interesting turn in this high-profile feud. Current WWE Champion Punk, who is a devout follower of the straight-edge lifestyle (drug free; no smoking/drinking), took offense to Brown's recent accusations of steroid use.

Punk took the time to release a video on Twitter, which has since made its way to YouTube, to refute those claims. Of course, Punk mentioned that he was straight edge. He also decided to issue a challenge to Brown -- not in a wrestling ring -- but a mixed martial arts ring. "Put the gloves on," Punk said in the video.

Punk said that where he comes from, women are admired, adored, and respected. He believes Brown never paid his debt to society for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2008 (Brown simply did community service) and would like to teach him a lesson -- with a catch (all proceeds of the fight would go towards a charity that supports women who are victims of abuse.) Should the proposed fight between CM Punk and Chris Brown actually happen?

    He is too much of a wuss, he says music lasts forever, and wrestlers come and go, well at least CM PUNK has a good name will be remembered as STRAIGHT EDGE, and a respecting guy towards women. Chris however will be known as the girl basher with no talent and uses a computer to create his music because he can't sit down and play an instrument, he may know how to play one but he's crap at it and has no talent. Therefore CM PUNK has the real talent because in the Wrestling World you have to work harder in order to become a real champion in heart... SUCK ON THAT CHRIS BROWN!

    I'd love to see Chris Brown get his butt kicked, for sure, but I love CM Punk and how he emblematically represents the Straight-Edge movement. I don't want to see him get hurt by accident trying to roundhouse kick some sense into Brown, and I'd hate to see kids get the wrong message from Punk. Just do it Rocky V style: A street fight. :D brown hate kids wrong message punk rocky style street fight

    Of course not! He will only accept a challenge he knows he can win, that is, one against a defenseless woman! I'd personally like to see him get in the ring with one of those MMA fighters and get beaten to a bloody, blue pulp!

    A moral perspective would be for Punk to go after someone like Stone cold how beat more than one woman, or Kurt Angel who beat a woman . But he was to pick a fight with some he has 60 pounds on.

    Morally, Punk shouldn't go after anyone, unless it's purely for sport. Just sayin'... But the media never were known for their moral values, so that's a moot point.

    I say Brown should put on 60 pounds and accept the challenge, because it would be funny to watch him fail. But I was never known for my moral values either...

    I'm not ready to make any inferences about Punk just yet. I don't know enough about the bloke or his opinions of the many number of other men who've abused women. It's entirely possible that he's only attacking Brown because Brown accused him of using steroids. In such a position, who wouldn't attack Brown's cowardly act of hitting a woman? Aside from the Dalai Lama, maybe...

    But I don't really care about his motives, so that too is a moot point.

    On the other hand, I laud his decision to send the winnings to charity. In that case, I hope the fight does happen simply so the money goes to a just cause.
