Will Chad Ochocinco Play in the NFL Next Season?

NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has been released by the New England Patriots, following a disappointing 2011 season. The six-time Pro Bowler landed in New England after he was traded by the Cincinnati Bengals -- a franchise he spent nearly a decade with. But his production in recent years has fallen, even if his star continues to rise and stay steady.

Ochocinco only started three of the 15 games he played last season, racking up a measly 276 total yards and one touchdown. That pales in comparison to the seasons of his prime, when he led the league in receiving. He did, however, play in the first Super Bowl of his career earlier this year, catching a pass for 21 yards in a loss to the New York Giants. While Ochocinco fans may feel their player got a raw deal, he was quick to thank the organization for their time during his short tenure there.

Now at age 34, the question isn't just how much fuel Ochocinco's got in the tank, but how much he really wants to play football these days. Depending on how financially comfortable he is, Ochocinco could have a very good media and entertainment career if he retired tomorrow. From his trademark touchdown celebrations to his Ochocinco News Network app to his wild stint on Dancing With the Stars, Ochocinco has always delivered as an entertainer.
