NBA legend Allen Iverson's nickname is “The Answer” and ironically, many basketball fans have been seeking answers. Does Iverson still want to play basketball? Is Iverson retired? Can Iverson still play on an NBA level? Until recently, most of the headlines for Iverson dealt with him allegedly losing millions of dollars in his fortune -- along with his immediate denial of such things.

Last week though, during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the Boston Celtics and Iverson's former team the Philadelphia 76ers, we didn't hear headlines of potential bankruptcy. Instead, we saw Iverson in the crowd at the Sixers game and interviewed by ESPN about his next career move. Iverson refused to say he was retired and made it known he still wanted to play.

Iverson had a Hall of Fame NBA career, with his most memorable run taking place in Philly with his beloved Sixers. Unfortunately, personal problems and a decline in play led to Iverson leaving the NBA. In fact, he may have forced himself out because for many years he said he'd retire if he came off the bench.

Considering the NBA gives out a Sixth Man of The Year award and Iverson having had the desire to win that elusive championship, there's no shame in being a key member of a team -- even if you're not a starter. Iverson may want to play in the NBA and he has the credentials to justify someone signing him. But will Allen Iverson play in the NBA next season and end his career on a high note?

The more and more I watch "The Answer" the more I have to say he was one of the most entertaining basketball players who ever lived, as well as very skillful. Allen in my opinion is always telling the truth. Yes he is known for having a bad background but people can change into good and because if he did or not participate in all those scenarios is still a very skillful basketball player, he should of course come back and join the professionals but the question is; Will the NBA teams value him for his skill and admiring personality characteristics or will they think that his background just doesn't allow it?

Yes, i strongly believe and have faith in my boy return. He is not only a good player, but he knows how to read the court better than any other PG i have ever known. He has a great IQ and i know that he might not have been the smartest person to make a decision on leaving the nba because he didn't want to come off the bench, but he is still the man.. Some of these comments on here are making me mad, simply because there are some real haters who is leaving stupid comments on this page.. Please realize that he will be coming back on a higher level and i strongly have faith.. No matter what you haters say, it's only MOTIVATION.

#Thanks And Have A Blessed Day!!

I believe in this guy. I've watched him play most of his nba career and know that this guy wants to win. He's been a star his whole life, maybe these last couple of years has taught him some humility and he will come back a different person mentally. There will never be a player like him ever again.

are you crazy??? the heat don't need ANYTHING they have the most dominant mixture of great players in the NBA. At this point he would NEVER sign with them it wouldn’t be enough money for him anyways he'd most likely go with a smaller team in the NBA and make more money than he'd would with a team like the Heat, or Lakers, but the top teams he'd would ever think about signing with is A: the Knicks because he'd could be with his old teammate carmelo B: the Nuggets, a good team who has a all around small forward and a good center but could use a better point guard or C: the 76ers, he could be reunited with his old team but he'd have to carry them on his shoulders to get a ring and he's already been there and done that but it dident work out so most likely A or B and i think he should go with A i can see them going to get a ring- Hope this helps :D

Who knows. Will a team want to sign him? And if so at what cost. Allen is no spring chicken but maybe his ego is deflated enough to tolerate his idiosyncrasies. One things for sure he will not get a substantial contract.

Hopefully he will. He would be a great sixth man. Heck he could still start and just play limited minutes. He's a great player and I think he's wised up after playing in Turkey and is most likely willing to do whatever it takes to get a ring as long as he gets decent minutes even if he is a second stringer.

I think Iverson may be willing now, to accept a different role. And I think because of the amazing talent that he was during most of his career, he deserves at least one shot at a championship. And another thing is, you can start Iverson, and play him limited minutes. but a sixth man role would fit him, being the scorer that he is.
