The 46th Super Bowl will take place on February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 ET on NBC. The Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award, or Super Bowl MVP, is presented annually to the most valuable player of the Super Bowl, the National Football League's (NFL) championship game. The winner is chosen by a fan vote during the game and by a panel of 16 American football writers and broadcasters who vote after the game. Quarterbacks have earned the honor 24 times in 45 games.

Will New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady or New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning win the MVP in 2012? Each of the quarterbacks already won the MVP (Tom Brady won the award twice):

I want the Giants to win but I feel the Patriots will win and Brady will get MVP. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Tom Brady didn't win any points by getting a safety by throwing an intentional grounding penalty from the endzone.

More a "I hope" vote than anything else actually. Let the best team on the day carry the trophy - not the luckiest one.

A receiver I think. Possibly Wes Walker. But it will probably be the winning QB regardless of the stats. Pats 24 Giants 23. Should be a great game.

QBs usually win the MVP regardless of who really deserves it. Since I think the Patriots will win, Brady will probably get the MVP.

A few RBs and WRs have also won it so there is a chance for those players as well.

And a defensive player or two. Still, it's usually the QB. If Julian Edelman can run back a kick, get a sack or interception on D and catch a TD pass - becoming the first player to do all three in a single Super Bowl - maybe he'll get it. We'll find out pretty soon.

Well, I had the wrong QB (and the wrong team winning), but they still gave the MVP to the winning QB even though his performance was mediocre. Not that anyone else really played well enough to deserve it either.

Tuck actually got pretty close to MVP. Better luck next year for the Pats... Brady did excellently but I think they were just so...so... unlucky in critical plays. I was rooting for the Giants because well, I like cheering an underdog. Lets now move on to post-season, the luck@horseshoe, payton's pain and roster battles :) This was a good season for football I think ...as a bonus. my Broncos didn't disgrace themselves for the first time in six years.

I think your Broncos are going to be pretty good for the next several years. A quarterback who can run and throw is a big plus. And the Broncos defense is pretty strong too, though Dawkins' retirement will hurt.

My money's with Eli. Any other time I would say Tom Brady no question but the Giants are red hot right now and last week's performance from Brady wasn't very good. If the Patriots DO win however I imagine it will either be Brady who gets MVP or their stud tight-end Ron Gronkowski.

Really? I didn't know something had happened to him. Thank you though :) Gronkowski is pretty much a straight up stud of a tight end lol. I'll say that if Tom Brady is his regular self tomorrow, there's no way the Giants will win.
