Why do they call baseball games for rain, but never football games?

I know the infield would be a mess, but I think it would be fun. I would still be down to play in the rain, if the umpires would let us.

I have no clue. I guess because if a baseball gets slippery, that can change the entire outcome of the game. But idk. I love playing football in the rain though.

maybe because in baseball u have a huge metal bat in ur hands and when ur losing i might "accidentally" slip out of your hands...LOL..that would be very bad..and a little funny

Because baseball players are wimps who don't like getting muddy (and some MIGHT melt when wet) and football players are strong men who won't melt if they get wet or snowed on.

I don't think you'd want to be standing at the plate when a pitcher attempts to throw a slippery baseball 100mph 18 inches or less from your unprotected body.

Part of the game of football was to endouer the elements. Just like horse racing. Some do better in the rain and some don"t

well i had a game Wednesday and it started pouring. and i was pitching and i couldn't get a good grip to even try to throw a breaking. ball so i got a new ball almost every pitch. i doubt that it is the full reason why. but good question

Baseball players are fragile creatures. JK, Football players are heavily padded and can change game play quickly, whereas baseball players cannot. The field, ball, players are not designed to get too wet.

I have my theory but football IS a fall/winter sport where just by the nature of the game, the players wear more protection and number 2-Imagine what a sea of mud the infield w/b on the diamond if they just let it rain all over it? Those guys would never be able to run or field properly and pitching? Forget it!!!

well cuz the bats are metal n u might electricuted but mainly cuz of the dirt they need to cover it so u won't fall n for football its just grass in baseball they'll let u play only for drizzle

I know the game would be a total disaster with lots of inside the park home runs and errors out the ass, but it would still be fun.

I bet after one trip around the bases, my cleats would weight like 50 pounds a piece.

Running bases you'd probably slip and slide in the mud. Could possibly go into inning 99. j/k lol Football seems like a sport that seems to be based on going through pain, testing strength and endurance.
