Why do so many people hold a grudge against Black Veil Brides?

Black Veil Brides is my favourite band. And I've always wondered why so many people hate them, other bands included, like Bring Me The Horizon. And it seems that most people hate Andy Biersack (Lead singer). If you're a BVB hater, why don't you like them?:3

I hate them simply because of the way they look and the lack of passion in their songs. Personally, in each of the songs they record there seems to be a lack of passion, Andy's vocal range is terrible, they cannot hold what i call a 'metal sound' (Example: Legacy. Starts well, then drains out when Andy sings) and they basically (no offence intended) ripped Kiss off. The BVB army is reminiscent of the Kiss army, there was the incident when Andy changed his last name to 'Sixx' to try and be like Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue, and the message in the songs is the same as the message that Kiss had: Don't let anyone tell you who you are. They look different, which admittedly works in their favor to a point, but they appear to have no way to use their instruments or how to stay in their own genre, as they try to mix too many genres into a single song, and to me, it's pathetic. If you know what genre you are (which BVB evidently do not) you try to add variation, not different genres altogether.

I love them! But I know loads of people who hate them and I'm not sure why, it's probably just preference or ignorance towards people's opinions.

i see wayyy more people who like them than people who don't....

personally, i am NOT a fan because their music bores me and is just a rehash of a bunch of the other "emo" stuff that was popular in 2007

Its just a matter of preference. For example I love BVB and BMTH and brokNCYDE but I cant stand Attack Attack!, Paramore and I Wresteled a Bear Once. Not everyone is going to like exactly another person likes.

Because they are just another example of image being used to market what is supposed to be an art form to gullible, angsty teenagers. It goes against everything that music is supposed to be about.

I was curious. I understand that certain may not like the music, but others take it too far and send them death threats. I was wondering why they dislike them to that point.

A lot of singers and actors (or anyone in the public eye) get death threats. I got a death threat once!! The problem isn't with the band, it's with the people making the threats. They're psychos. I can't stand Justin Bieber, but I'd never threaten his life. The people who do that are sick. Nothing to do with the singer.

Because their music is bad, their singer has an awful voice and they're extremely overrated. I'm also sick of seeing all these "OMG Andy Sixx is so hot!!!" comments all over the internet. It seems like their fans only like them because of their looks.

In my opinion, people that just obsess over band members in general should get high fived in the face. It shows they don't actually listen to the music. Much like My Chemical Romance, many people just obsess over Gerard.

Yes, sadly MCR have many fans who obsessed with their looks too. But unlike BVB they're a really good band who makes interesting and original music.

Though I don't "hate" or hold a "grudge" against them. These are merely observations from a non-fan. Many of the bands fans are obsessive, obnoxious, and annoying, listening to girls continuously talk about the band singers(fits under obsessive and annoying category). I also personally think they are overrated. I have nothing against the band, but I understand why people are annoyed with it/them.
