Why do I like Jim Morrison, Elvis, and John Lennon the same?

Poet003 2012/04/20 06:32:55
I read that Jim Morrison was jealous of the Beatles in a rock magazine in a article
titled "American Pycho". Forawhile I liked the Doors and Morrison the best along
with Elvis and jazz.John Lennon is and usually was my favorite Beatle.Id unlike the
''I Hate the Beatles " on fb if I could.I will when I figure out how to do it.I honestly
like some Beatles and John Lennon songs.I think "Imagine " is easier for
the masses to understand than "When the Musics Over".Yes, theres Beatle fanatics
along with religous and atheist fanatics but I support anything that encourages
thought ,peace, and/or love even coming from someone in prision. The only thing
I really dislike about the Beatles now from a musical perspective is how they took
the thought, soul, and creativity out of powerhouse voices arranging and intepreting
covers. However it probably wasnt the Beatles who did that.It was the Beatles fans.
People have a right to buy what they like.I think some people that are song arrangers
and cover artists are genuises too. There is even some soul to singing a cover .
You!

I don't understand your criticism of The Beatles.

"I really dislike about the Beatles now from a musical perspective is how they took
the thought, soul, and creativity out of powerhouse voices arranging and intepreting
    covers."

How did they remove thought, soul, and creativity in reinventing Rock music and practically inventing Psychedelic Rock?

I said under that perhaps it was Beatles fan not the Beatles themselves who did that.Part of
the Beatles impact was going to hear cover artists became a feat of athletic skill rather than
creative variations on themes. Its the diffrence between Elvis Presley and Whitney Houston.
Whitney Houston might still be alive today maybe if she hadnt been bored.Maybe boredom
    drove her to drug experimentation.

So you're arguing that The Beatles were more tallented than creative? I just don't understand your viewpoint I guess.

I am saying Whitney Houston was more talented than creative. She sang more like a athlete.

I'll agree for Whitney Houston, but disagree on your opinion on The Beatles.

All very true they could be considered one of the most versitile bands in history and especially if you factor in their longevity! Here one more for the road.....hope you like. It is partly influenced by an act of violence they witnessed while performing live long ago!

I guess you like them because you have eclectic tastes, and they were all cultural icons that made history.
