Neil Peart from Rush. Being around a drummer my entire life, (my brother) I've been exposed to some of the greatest ever, and he and I still believe Neil is one of the best to have ever played the drums. He's pushing 60, and he's still playing like he did in his 20's, amazing!

How could anybody leave him out? My friend is a drummer and he said Pearts drumming is the harder to play then any drummer he has had to play before! He said he does so many offbeats that are difficult to play!

I've been listening to Rush for over 30 years and I couldn't agree more. My older brother also being a drummer says the same thing. Every time a new album would come out, I would start learning the guitar, and my brother the drums. Even though it was a blast to mess around, we could never duplicate they''re play.

I'm a drummer myself, so there's many drummers I want to put here, but I'll list a few.

Zach Hill because of his relentless double footwork on one pedal and his crazy licks. Chris Maggio because I love his double tom licks and the paradiddle patterns he uses to make his style of grindcore drumming. Then Alexander Sowinski, because he blends jazz music perfectly by using it as a foundation with the sound of hip hop. They're all amazing with their grooves.
