Who's the Best Movie Villain of All Time?

No question, but Heath is the master of this role.

Because Hanibal Lecter didnt have a super hero to fight against (he had it easy), and Darth Vader became good after he murdered The Emperor and instead of Luke Skywalker (his son). Plus The Joker was made of pure evil and was more inteligent than Batman himself.

But only Heath Ledger as the Joker. Because that man...... my God, he was incredible.

I'm a big fan of Heath Ledger but in this question and role Hannibal Lecter beats him!!!

Nolanite fools who chose The Joker here's the problem. Heath's Joker is probley the SECOND GREATEST ACTING PERFORMANCE AS A VILLIAN OF ALL TIME (Hopkins performance as Hannibal Lecter tops him) and the BEST WRITTEN VILLIAN IN CINEMA HISTORY but he's hurt as a villian because he talks too much (Nolan why so explaining everything and being so serious?) for me to really find him intimidating. Plus I think Ledger's Joker while good he wasn't really the Joker. Nicholson was the closest to the comics Joker that we've seen in live action. So Joker loses points there. If you combined elements from Romero's Joker, Jack's Joker, Ledger's Joker, and through in some of Mark Hamill's voice traits when he voices the Joker and you have the recipe for the ultimate Joker to be seen in live action. So I have to go with Darth Vader although it was tight race between him and Hannibal Lecter.

He maybe sick, and crazy. But he sure knows what strings to pull.

It was a hard pick between The Joker (Heath Ledger) and Darth Vader, but what decided it for me was that Vader in the end was redeemable, but there is no redemption - indeed, no sense at all - with The Joker.

Heath Ledger's Joker was amazing!

Darth is one of my faves. I also like the Jack Nicholson joker, not the Heath Ledger joker.

The way Heath Ledger played the Joker blew the rest out of the water.

This guy was already ruling basically an entire galaxy when we jumped into the story, and had been doing so successfully, with the reign of his cruel, unforgiving fist, for about twenty years. Better yet, he's an interesting character (even before the prequels) who redeems himself in the end because he was basically a good guy who was tempted by ultimate power but realized his mistake by the end. An villain who was both terrifying and able to relate to-- that's a real accomplishment.

I am one massive Batman and Joker fan! Comics, games, movies, you name! Heath was awesome as the Joker, really captured the late 80's to present day comic version of the Joker and then turned him into something unique and equally awesome! (Read the Killing Joke---amazing!)

Heath Ledger was an excellent Joker, I don't understand why Jack Nicholson's version seems to be forgotten. That being said, they all take a second to Darth Vader.

I actually like Sweeney Todd the best.
