I tend to like the villains more, there's just something about them that attracts me and make me get into them more. Especially if they're a crazy person/are thought to be crazy as well, that just adds to their appeal. And most of the time, most votes will go to the heroes. Maybe I want to support the insane and possibly killer book and or movie villain underdog?
