Since LeBron James came to the National Basketball Association via Cleveland's number one draft selection, the so-called "King" has been constantly compared to the sport's all-time greats -- specifically Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. While his career averages [per game] of 26 points, seven assists, and seven-and-a-half rebounds are nothing to mess with, James still has a zero in the most important category: championships.

According to ESPN.com, NBA analyst and Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson poked fun at James during a lecture at the University of Albany on Saturday. While his joke about James' fourth quarter woes was somewhat harmless, the legend did not shy away from telling it like it is.

"Everybody's always asking, 'Who is better between Kobe (Bryant) and LeBron?' I'm like, Are you kidding me? I'm like you're kidding me ... Kobe, five championships; LeBron, zero." James left the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 to join the Miami Heat in a controversial free agency move.

The Heat did make the NBA Finals their first year together with James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, but once again for Mr. "King," the end result was the same, no championship. Lebron James can prove Magic Johnson and others wrong this season -- if there is a season, that is.

The question should be who's more talented Kobe or Jordan.When Jordan played he won 6 championships,3 of those were without Rodman.Both Kobe and Jordan did more with less talented players.I think it takes leadership skills on the court and confidence that King Lebron lacks.Wade and Bosch aren't exactly rookies.Wade won a ring on that same team not that long ago,without Lebron.Miami expected that since they bought 3 of the highest paid players in the NBA that they could just start churning out championships.It doesn't work that way.The team has to be more well rounded.Miami fired their whole PR staff after they hired these 3 guys.Serves them right for trying to count their rings before they played a single game together.

I'm not in favor of not going to college and going to the professional level without a NCAA season under your belt but Lebron is a man among boys, look at him.

The comparisson is unfair. Lebron just started playing on a good team (no offense Cavs fans but lets be honest). Kobe has been on an all-star team (remember the Kobe, Shaq) even Michael Jordan played on the Chicago team in its all-star years....
To be considered one of the greats he has to have a ring. I don't blame him for taking his talents elsewhere. He was good to Cleveland for many years.

Would Kobe and/ or Jordan of been the players they were if they were on a team without the rest of the talent?

Where would Kobe of been without Shaq.
Where would Jordan of been without Rodman picking up all those rebounds?

Better player individually, it's a tie. Both Labron and Kobe have shown that they can take over games when they are on. (Or have people forgotten how he took over when he was in Cleveland in the Boston series to put the Cavs in the Finals where they lost because 'Bron couldn't win the Championship on his own just like Iverson couldn't win the Championship series by himself against the Lakers in the early 00's). People please stop talking about James ''choking'' in the playoffs last year because Miami is still adjusting as a team with so many superstars and James's poor performance in the fourth quarter is as much to blame on James as it to the Mavs defense and them not giving him the ball enough in the fourth. End rant. Better raw talent, Labron (why? If Labron learned to be more of a team player, he'd be the closest thing we've had to Magic Johnson since Magic retired. What I mean is, the size of a PF or even undersized C with the skills and mobility of a guard). More consistent player, Kobe.

In a clutch situation, I would much rather have the ball in Kobe's hands than in Lebron's. Kobe is past his peak and Lebron has yet to reach his, but Kobe can play better under pressure than Lebron. .

And I'm hearing what you're saying also. I really do. But quite honestly I think money allows people to think they are above the law. So many of these athletes think they are entitled to whatever they want to do because of this astronomical amount of money. Nonetheless he wasn't found guilty of rape and every female must live with that decision. It's my hope that any young good looking female would steer clear of this man as he travels to various cities. Nice talking with you and I do hope Kobe continues to keep his nose clean and not enter compromising situations.
