The grizzly bear is huge and have 2 much power. It is protected in thick coat of fur and fat. it would a very very sharp claw to penetrate that thick layer. The tiger has more dexterity has more speed but lacks size and power. To be honest.... even at same size and weight, the grizzly still wins... it is one of the most aggressive animal on earth... not that the tigers aren't but the tigers will never go against a bear this size unless the bear attacks first.

your totally right except one thing if you find a Siberian Tiger as large as a Grizzly the Tiger would end the fight without a scratch hell the only thing the bear has is his size claws not as dangerous teeth not as dangerous speed as fast a bear is is a totally different dimension my friend but The Grizzly wins 9 times out of 10 i think in any other case

ONCE AND FOR ALL. SIBERIAN TIGER. *ARM GESTURAL MOTIONS* NO DOUBT. THERE'S NO WAY A BEAR WOULD WIN. JUST, NO.

They only prey on juvenile bears and female bears that are smaller than them. They do not fight the largest Grizzlies in their prime and would get slaughtered if they tried.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/h... and this is a black bear who appears smaller than a tiger. I'll bet a full grown kodiak bear could kill 2-3 tigers at once. Large kodiak bears can withstand several gunshots http://waterandwoods.net/2008... and continue fighting so I think it would be able to withstand biting and clawing from a tiger. Doesn't matter if the tiger is quicker and more agile, the bear can take whatever the tiger throws at it and it only has to make one mistake before the bear pins it and kills it. Also for everyone who think a tiger is bigger or more powerful than a fully grown grizzly/kodiak you are just plain wrong and there is no debate about that.

Siberian Tiger would win. They're close to the size of a bear, almost as strong, much faster, and occasionally eat bears, but there are too many variables. It could be fighting with a small space, if it was night, the health of the 2 animals, the diet of the animals, if they have offspring, age, etc.

No sir, they don't eat grizzly bears, BECAUSE TIGERS ARE NOT NATIVE TO NORTH AFRICA!!.

But they DO, eat the Siberian Version of the Grizzly Bear, the Russian and the Siberian Brown which is just as Big, or slightly taller than the Grizzly, and Siberian Tigers would also hunt the Mongolian Bear but it's almost extinct, which is as Tall, yet not as fat as the Kodiak.

I think that if a Siberian Tiger eats full grown adult Brown Bears, they will also kill a Kodiak, and a Grizzly, would be eaten as Dinner or Lunch!

Siberian Tigers are wrestlers that use their retractable Claws as Fingers to tear into the flesh of their prey, Bears use their Claws clumsily in comparison.

After the Siberian Tiger has wrestled the Bear to the ground, where the bear can't do damage with it's teeth or ramming paws, the Tiger will crush the Bear's Neck vertebrae, from a behind, chock hold like embrace, with it's great crushing strength, in it's mouth and arms, that's how they kill moose, Elk, adult Buffalo and even Rhinos, and Saltwater Crocks, all of those animals are HUGE, and it takes a pride of lions to take down animals that size, and Kodiaks don't do that, they are fish eaters, and omnivores. So yeah, a Siberian Tiger unites all of the winning aspects of a more Evolved Hunter, Killer and predator.

Siberian Tiger is lord of the beasts.

And polar bears in a fight cower to Grizzly bears, so even a Polar Bear will be on the menu for a Siberian Tiger!.

Brown bears are not even close to grizzly bears in any aspect involved in fighting. A grizzly bear is bigger, stronger, and just as fast a a Siberian tiger (30-35 mph). The tiger is just quicker, and tigers almost never fight anything. They kill prey by sneaking up on it. I can almost guarantee the tiger would run away if it received any wounds. Bears fight, cats flee. I go with the bear over the tiger mostly because Grizzly bears are incredibly resilient to damage. A full grown one has a layer of fat and fur up to 9 inches thick. People unload .44 clips into grizzly bears without even dropping them sometimes, a tiger would have a lot of trouble competing with that.

Not at all.. I suggest you look it up.. Grizzly Bears are big, but not as Big as the Kodiak or Mongolian Bear, which the Siberian Tiger eats regularly... It is because they are so fat that the Siberian Tiger likes to devour the Big ones so much... It's all been recorded by National Geographic, look it up for yourself... I know you don't like it, but what are we gonna do?.. rewrite the Nature of Siberian Tigers or Bears?. I am afraid you are gonna have to accept it.

A kodiak is a type of grizzly... most of what you're saying is incorrect. Grizzlies are much bigger and stronger than most other subspecies of brown bears. Considering there are about 30 Mongolian Bears left, Siberian tigers don't eat them regularly or those 30 would disappear in an instant.

Actually, dimwit, the word "grizzly" generally is used for the INLAND North American population, NOT the coastal populations like the Kodiak. And in fact the grizzlys are the SMALLEST of the brown bears worldwide. Get a clue.

Actually there really is no debate if you take the biggest and baddest representation of the two the Siberian Tiger we'll reach a threshold that simply would dominate bite strength, canine size, speed, quickness, agility, killer instinct, ferociousness only the weight would favor the bear. Of course as mentioned strange things can happen when you take into account the protection of young.http://images.sodahead.... Killing machine

In May of 1923, 180 miles North west of Brestov, Siberia, 2 un-eatin "FULLY GROWN DEAD LIBERIA TIGERS" in a bears den. Yes the bear suffered an eleven inch gash and a five inch gash down his cheeck and nose. Doe to the fact your vicious, fast, beautiful, natural hunting, killer was not eaten but jus killed, means one thing, territory. and if you all noticed, i never once used the word "GRizzly bear. Actually a grizzly bears have recorded bite forces of about 1100 psi while tigers are at 1000. A grizzly bear has a top speed of about 40 mph while a tiger is also at about 40mph. A large grizzly has a layer of fat about 4-8 in. thick, plus a thick layer of fur which acts as armor, while a tiger's canines reach about 3 inches, not even close to enough to do damage to a grizzly bear who will keep fighting even after being shot multiple times. Killer instinct and ferociousness is just your own speculation and definitely isn't backed up by any scientific evidence. Big cats are fight or flight animals while a grizzly bear will always stand its ground and definitely is more well equipped for defense than a tiger which relies on surprising its prey, which it can't do to a grizzly because the grizzly will smell it from miles away. You might be familiar with tigers, but you obviously need to do more research on grizzlies. I suggest you read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... and this article is referring to an average grizzly or polar bear, not a 1500 pound one. Also, bears are much smarter than you probably think.

I believe who would win would be very much according to what they were fighting over. If one was protecting cubs I believe that one would win. Over food, who knows. What shape is each one in? When did they have their latest meal, etc... I would like to see the Tiger win, but in the end there is no way to really know. Go Tigers!

recently saw a 300 lb black bear hold his own against a 600 lb african male lion on you tube. i love big cats. have been to animal safaris people dont understand how big and powerful brown bears can get they were as big as my vw bug.i have seen bears run in the wild and they run faster than a fast dog, probably why they outrun hunting dogs. cats have weaker skulls , think about it cat eyes always pop out if a dog gets them etc. grizzlys will crush a bigger bulls skull and more than one. people have put many bulls in an arena with grizzly and they all died , years ago ofcourse. read lewis and clark expedition about grizzlies and see how they dont die.grizzlies or kodiaks always turn into their wound pissed ambush, seriously, i guess folks dont know how well bears smell and how bad cats stink. polar bears can only smell prey a hundred miles away and bears can smell food through steal. siberian tiger is among my favorite but come on.

Bengal tigers are much more aggresive than their Siberian cousins. I have seen on youtube, a Bengal bat and whip three lions at once with little effort. The bear is limited in how it kills. it has its mouth and front paws. tigers are ingenious, as all cats, about staying out of the way of danger. They have MUCH faster reflexes than the bear, and can kill in more ways. Even if the bear gets the tiger under him, the tiger can use its back claws to gut the bear in seconds. Cats are much superior and elite killing machines than bears, who depend mainly on brute strength. Watch a tiger defeat an anaconda on youtube. The snake could hardly even wrap around the tiger it was so fast. I think the tiger beats the bear 70 percent of the time depending on size difference, and so on.

Everything you just said is false. First off, the beetle is the strongest animal pound for pound, while the gorilla is the strongest large mammal pound for pound. To further my point even more, the tiger isn't even the strongest cat pound for pound, the jaguar and leopard both beat the tiger out in that category. Second, the only Siberian tigers around 1000 ibs are in captivity and are over fed and out of shape, the largest ones recorded in the wild were in the 800-850 range. Last of all they are not stronger than fully grown grizzly or kodiak bears. Polar bears have been known to pull dead beluga whales out of holes in the ice and grizzlies are comparable to them. The fact that you said "many times stronger" means that you are clearly biased and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, tigers aren't super heroes like you seem to think. The fact that you got 8 likes for your comment just shows the ignorance of many of the people participating in this thread. If you don't believe me, do some research.

On strength per lbs basis doesn't actually mean a thing if you're fighting something stronger. Like saying Andre ward is best lb for lb fighter in the world but If he fought klitschko he'd be destroyed. Not a coherent argument I'm afraid. Judging by all the comments on here and relations to articles and what not, not one side of the argument has come up with any solid proof whatsoever! It's all links to Wikipedia which you've probably been on to alter articles in the first place. Pathetic! Noone knows which one would win. End of! Go film something in the wild to back up this nonsense your spouting. Or better still, go feed yourself to one of them. Probably for the best. Dick head!
