Rumors have begun to surface that Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper could take over for Harrison Ford if “Indiana Jones” producers decide the franchise needs a fresh start.

Ford, 71, has been playing ‘Indy’ since 1981 with “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” and a new face could be just what the series needs. Ford told the Telegraph last year that he could still handle the role of Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr., as he has done in five films (the last in 2008).

“We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it’s perfectly appropriate and OK for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass,” he said.

Why try "fixing" something that isn't broken?? Let Ford be the Indy that everyone knows and loves!!

Bradley Cooper might work but Harrison Ford will always be Indiana Jones for me but if they do replace him, Harrison should at least play his dad! Hell just thought of a great Indiana Jones, Josh Holloway, he's definitely do justice to the part!

I love Harrison Ford and saw all of the originals in the theater, but it is time to pass the buck. I can't believe he is 71 years-old. Now I'm depressed. Where does all the time go. Soon he will be dead. Crap! Soon I will be dead!!!

If I had to choose any other one, I'd say keep Ford, but after the last movie, which wasn't completely trash, but certainly wasn't great, either, I don't want to see a cool movie legacy go to crap.

I mean, perhaps there's an actor out there who could pull it off, but that actor definitely is NOT Bradley Cooper. Ugh.

He should play the character, but his story should be more of the older "father figure" with a younger man as the "muscle" and protege. If Connery can play his father @ his age, Ford can play Indy with someone else as the person who handles the harder parts in the same way.

I am a mega Harrison Ford fan, but I like the idea of adding new life to a thrilling series. It works for the Bond series. It becomes something I can share with my kids. My 9 y/o had no idea of who Harrison Ford was or had never heard of Indiana Jones. I think adding a familiar face can rebirth the franchise. I don't think Shia did an awesome job and he is too young to undertake this series. I think you have to stay within the framework and time frame of Indy's life to make it work. Those years offered much more mysticism and discovery. Trying to put him in modern times would be stupid.

Bradley Cooper is eye candy for the ladies. Harrison had his day, just like James Bond, they have to pass the torch to someone and I was disappointed in who they got to play his son in the last movie. I would much rather go see Cooper and I think he would do good job. I think Mathew McCaughney would be good too, with some weight on him.

Keep Harrison and have one in training. I enjoyed River Phoenix and Shia. Bradley would be good, too. I definitely would have Harrison pass the torch. He isn't getting younger...none of us are.

although I chose Keep Harrison Ford, it would depend on the plot of the movie. Are we going to be seeing Indiana and the Curse of Senile Dementia or a plot set earlier in Indy's life? After all Harrison ford is not the only one to play the role of Indiana Jones.

The Late River Phoenix played Young Indy in the Last Crusade and three other actors played him in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on television; George Hall, Corey Carrier and Sean Patrick Flanery of the Boondock Saints. So Harrison Ford may be the most well known but he is not the only one capable of doing the role justice. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

Not sure why anyone other than Harrison would play Indiana?

Unless its based around a younger version of him then yeah maybe....I dont fall into the trap that if anything new is added to a franchise then it somehow "ruins" what's already been made, but that said it'd be kinda weird if someone else was suddenly shown as a young Indiana when we already know what a young Indiana looks and sounds like.

Not opposed to Bradley Cooper unless he is bit more grown up version of Mutt which was portrayed by Shia Labeouf in the last film passing the torch kind of thing from Harrison Ford's Indy character to him.

Can I just ask what happened to people today? I love a sequel as much as anyone but are people so retarded nowadays that we can't just make good movies of our own?
