Who played the best Batman?

I've seen the old re-runs of the show..& all the Batman movies..I give my vote to Kilmer..
I thought Keaton & Clooney were just ok as Batman..Keaton just doesn't have the superhero physique..Now, they did turn Bale into one, with all his training workout..but they couldn't do anything with his ultra-creepy, obsene phone caller, the mask is choking me.. voice..drove me & many others nuts...I could see Hugh Jackman (Wolverine from X-Men)..or even Brad Pitt..doing a Batman role..they're in shape enough to pull it off...And since we're on a Batman movie topic..Could someone tell me why Cher of all people is going to be Catwoman..I know she take great care of herself..But she's one the verge of collecting her social security checks..They couldn't get Angelina Jolie (who was filming
'Wanted' with Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox in Batman)..in Chicago..around the same time..to do the role...Or Jessica Biel...Jessica Alba...anybody 30 yrs. younger than Cher?
Johnny Depp is a real neat choice as 'The Riddler'...John Malkovich or even Robin Williams would've made good choices too..

i'm not voting for christian bale just because he's the newest..i am voting for him because he is the most real character. He managed to completely change what I thought of the character. His portrayal showed that superheroes can actually be real people...that we can all be superheroes...that it doesn't mean you are perfect..but rather that you want to sincerely help and you use your resources to do so. I loved how he fought with all of his own personal demons and that he was torn between what was right and yet what he should do. That's so real life. Some of the other guys were good (Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer), but the rest are only good because they just fill the need of superficial superhero. I wanted a character that I really could root for.

The portrayal and using his resources to do good, and fighting with his own personal demons is all part of the original story of batman. Bale did indeed do a good job of bring it out. However all the previous Batman actors attempted to do so, it was just Bale that truly made us see and believe it that puts him above the rest. But this also shows good credit to the writers of the story for making it a true story to the Batman legacy and his real persona as it was ment to be. Bale brought it to life on the big screen for all of us to enjoy.

The best batman would be if you took Adam West's awesome factor and add it to Christian Bale's HOT/ bad ass factor..... that would be so sweet! I watched the Adam Wests batman with my brother and his best friend and i loved it!!

Bale by far was the best Batman. The other versions of Batman were more "fun" not serious.

Joker makes Batman, Batman. So Heath Ledger was the best Joker so Christian Bale is the best Batman.
