Connery was hands down the best. He defined the role and made James Bond who he is today.
My order of favorite bonds:
1. Connery
2. Moore - he's campy, but it fits in with the time.
3. Craig - if he keeps going, he could get to #2
4. Lazenby - A truly underrated bond. OHMSS is a fantastic movie - too bad he never did more movies.
5. Brosnan - An ok Bond - he had some good moments (like the tank scene)
6. Dalton - He's really a better than people give him credit for.
Roger Moore. He didn't take the part so damn seriously and injected a bit of humor. Moonraker and Octopussy where my faves. I also liked Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig too though.
I notice that I am in a minority. Now, I have seen many of Sean Connery's Bond films, and I didn't like them very much. I think Daniel Craig is amazing as Bond.
Also, I love Sean Connery, and before Daniel Craig came on the scene I would have said Sean in a heartbeat.
Pierce Brosnan was my favorite Bond. Sean was the one that set that standard though. Daniel is a sucky Bond in my opinion. Bond is supposed to be suave and sophifisticated and not some dumb Rambo wannabe. So Craig got shafted by being in Bond films that aren't wanting to be Bond films which has hindered him to the suckage level he is as Bond.
My favorite was Sean Connery till I saw Daniel Craig. I think he's the new James Bond for the day and does James quite well in fact. Back when James Bond came out it was cutting edge for its day but would never hold up with what's out there today. You got to keep the past in the past and remember "LIVE AND LET DIE".
