Start with the one on the GameCube: Animal Crossing. :3 It's the better way to get into the game, so if you have a GameCube or Wii, then you can play it.

If you don't have a GameCube or Wii, and have a DS then you can play Animal Crossing: Wild World.

An alternative to the DS one is City Folk on the Wii. If you have a 3DS, there's an upcoming sequel for it but it looks different from the others. I also took the liberty of showin' a good video and some box arts so you can keep your eye out for'em!

I do have a Wii, so I should be able to play! And now that I'm thinking about it, I think I have played Animal Crossing City Folk! For like 5minutes with my friend lol. I'm not entirely too sure, but it might have been it. I will most definitely look into these. Thanks! :)

I forget which one is the quiet one, but I like her. I remember in one of the games if you kept talking to her every day she'd gradually get less shy and talk to you. ^_^

Also from my first town on the GameCube version, I like Tangy the best.

That be Ms. Sable Able :) the big sister of the two. She's cute, kind and great. Her being reclusive got me curious and kept talkin' to her once a few days. After 12 days she friends you ^^

Kiki

Kiki is my favorite villager, hands down <3 She's very cute, and nice. She could be like my character's GF in a way because of how much she likes me and all. Haha, and as for favorite non-villager, Sable is my favorite. She's cute and her reclusive nature makes you curious about her. If you talk to her enough she starts opening up and becomes a friend. Awesome they both are.

As for close seconds and thirds:
K.K Slider and Blathers for non-villagers.
Tom and Peanut for the villagers :)
