As new styles emerge and the popular icons of the past move on to the next phase of life, younger generations are looking toward up-and-coming icons they can connect with. An "it girl" is a young woman who exemplifies her generation's idea of... it. You know, "it." It's not necessarily a physical thing, though that can definitely help. "It" has a lot to do with personality, but mostly it's just... "it."

Well, Vanity Fair put together a list of popular young women who they think possess the qualities of an "it girl," all between the ages of 21 (Jennifer Lawrence) and 36 (Paula Patton). The list includes "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" star Rooney Mara, "The Help" actress Jessica Chastain, and even Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's younger sister, Elizabeth. We've included the full list as options. Who do you think is Hollywood's top "it girl"?

Pretty face indeed, but I don't think she can act all. I'm holding out hope though, cause of her role as Clary in the upcoming Mortal Instruments series, but watched Abduction over the weekend and was severely disappointed by her acting (and the acting in general). I wish I could remember if I liked her in the Blind Side, but don't remember her acting enough to judge her on it.

I think we're on the same position, I've only seen her in the blind side, it was a small role (a cheerleader), I thought she was ok. I'm mostly excited about her upcoming movie (Mirror Mirror),I watched the trailer and she seems fit for the role. Then again I'm not a big fan, she's just my favorite among these relatively unknown girls, lol

What happened to honoring women who've actually done something? Anyone can look cute, say a funny line in front of a camera, and wear a skanky dress to a premire. How about those whove actually contributed something to society that was more than a over rated film?

:Yes and no. I'd be all for such an organization. How the general populace would welcome it, and glorify it... well, I don't think that it will get nearly as much attention. One can hope, though.
