It may be an unconventional choice but one of my personal faves of all time is Yul Brynner. He had talent, charisma, sex appeal, was a fascinating screen presence.Fave film of his would be a tie between Taras Bulba and The Brothers Karamazov.

Larry (aka Sir Laurence) Olivier -- Hamlet (1948--the ONLY good movie version of that play).

To save you a bit of time, I compared it with the 1969 film version (borrrinngg) which starred Nicol Williamson in title-role (the ONLY redeeming point, if any, of that one was Marianne Faithful).

(unfortunately, I had no easy "out" of watching the 1969 one--but due to length, it was split between two Grade-12 English class-sessions).

Jack can do anything. He can play a detective, con-artist, the president, a general, a nerd, a murderer, and even The Joker! I can't think of any other actors with that much diversity and talent.

Yeah Jack is pretty amazing. I love him in The Shining and of course One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.

My favorites are: One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, The Shinning, Batman, and A Few Good Men. Chinatown was also pretty good.

I need to re watch Chinatown. The first time I saw it I had the flu, I was tired and I just could not keep up.

I also think that Tom Hanks is also really skilled. Forest Gump, Apollo 13, Toy Story, That Thing You Do!, Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, Cast Away, and The Lady Killers were all pretty good. Anyone who can make being a lone survivor on a deserted island who talks to a volleyball into a good movie is a damn good actor in my book.
