Be sure to vote for your Oscar picks with our Academy Award Quick Vote!
This year's Academy Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning, meaning the weeks leading up to February 26 will be filled with rumors and speculation. Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" lead the list with 10 and 11 nominations respectively, but there were plenty of movies with multiple nominations. "Moneyball" and "The Descendants" did well, allowing Brad Pitt and George Clooney to vie for Best Actor.
We put together a Quick Vote poll for the major categories so you can find your way around the nominations and get involved in the discussion right away. If you'd like to see a full list of categories and nominations -- Supporting Actors, Cinematography, Costume Design -- the official Oscars website has it here.

Turd,... I'm told you can't shine one either.
You think you've earned everything merely by existing!
Also amused at the unintentional accuracy in your unrelated political statement!
(let me guess: 'right wing'?)
Aahhh, youth (and the willfully ignorant)...
You see, what I was talking about was RESPECT. RESPECT for those being voted on, RESPECT for their work, RESPECT for the institution, and RESPECT for the voting process. Maybe it's my own personal set of ETHICS (look that word up...), but MOST rational people would agree that if you know NOTHING of a subject then you shouldn't be voicing an 'opinion' on it. Certainly not when it affects others.
But again: Respect, Ethics, Empathy, the true mean of 'Rights', etc.
...these are subjects we can all clearly see you know nothing about.
I hope someday soon that YOU are on the end of a vote by people who know nothing about you, your work, your history, your dedication, etc. and don't care to know. A vote greatly affecting you & your livelihood being decided by know-nothing idiots who actually relish their ignorance to the point of calling it a 'right'. Perhaps at your place of employment.
Then... maybe, just maybe... another snarky, opinionated negativity spewer might know the feeling of someone else's shoes.... (but I doubt it. that would take enlightenment.)
Respect? Ha, these are the people (intertainment industry) that are behind SOPA and PIPA.
Youth, another lol, I am 67 years old and retired from a behemoth worldwide Medical Electronics Co., and Right Wing, well maybe a little.
Boy if you are left wing don't let your liberal friends here you say:
"ROFL at your perceived 'RIGHTS'!
You think you've earned everything merely by existing"!
RESPECT, NOooooooooooo, not for MOST of those people.
My place of imployment and ignorance, My employer was a hell of a lot more important than yours I am sure, like Advanced Medical Diagnostic Imaging for CT, MR Cardiac Cath and all the rest of these Medical devices when I worked there for 29 yrs as an engineer.,
Now take some advice:
Thanx!
Couldn't have proved my point better!
I'll get off your lawn now....
Are you at work and stealing time from your employer? Bad VoiceDude.
Ok, enought is enought, you are probely an OK guy and just take your job to serious.
If you haven't noticed yet, I am in the entertainment industry.
Not a whole lot of parties or events at 10 AM...
Please don't confuse us with the famous people you've heard of. WE are the ones who coined that phrase 'feast or famine'. WE are the industry that was decimated by the economy every bit as much as the travel, housing, and construction industries - if not more. An estimated 80% drop in corporate and private events. And institutions aren't paying either, so only rank amateurs are working - go out to see some local entertainment and see how low the bar is set...
I am thirty-five years as a professional entertainer. It's taken me around the world and through every medium. I've forgotten more than most currently know. In any OTHER profession, if you had my amount of knowledge, experience, and (in all humility) talent you wouldn't be hurting for work. I just happen to be in an industry where those things don't necessarily matter.
But I still could never be happy at anything else. My eldest daughter has followed me into the industry (now living near Broadway) - a source of both pride and worry. But it literally pumps through our veins and we couldn't do anything else!
Yet, THIS is the worst it's ever been. We're starving!
So....
YEAH, I take my job seriously....
...wouldn't you? ;^)
