This year's Academy Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning, meaning the weeks leading up to February 26 will be filled with rumors and speculation. Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" lead the list with 10 and 11 nominations respectively, but there were plenty of movies with multiple nominations. "Moneyball" and "The Descendants" did well, allowing Brad Pitt and George Clooney to vie for Best Actor.

We put together a Quick Vote poll for the major categories so you can find your way around the nominations and get involved in the discussion right away. Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady")

This was really hard! I love Meryl Streep, I thought her performance was amazing as usual and she really deserves the long awaited win. But Michelle Williams and Rooney Mara just wowed me with their performances. I thought Michelle Williams was going to botch up the image of Marilyn Monroe but she just blew me away. I don't really like remakes but I thought I'd watch "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" because I'd read the book about two years ago and then barely saw the original movie last year with a couple of friends. I liked the other girl because she totally scared me with her performance but when I saw this new version of the movie Mara had this great impact on me that I don't get very often. She literally made me so scared that I almost started crying for Lisbeth whereas the other girl only scared me enough to be a little jumpy. I love how she wasn't afraid to go through a great transformation to become her character and I could really tell she had investigated well enough to turn into Lisbeth.

Out of all of these actresses I can't choose just one. Whichever one it is I think I'll be happy with any result.

While I would expect no less from Meryl and Glenn, as they are the most fantastic actors of their time, they've won before.
But this girl here, did a phenominal job, and her performance was outstanding. Who knew?

When I first clapped eyes on Thatcher in 1973 when she was Secretary of Education I loathed her instantly. As the years went by that loathing turned to pathological hatred. I would have loved to have strangled her with my bare hands and chopped her up into little pieces. Eventually her own party humiliated her by booting her out when she was still prime minister. I wanted to vote the wicked bitch out myself so was denied that right.

I am sure Meryl Streep's portrayal of this disgusting filthy cow is brilliant and that's why I think she should get the oscar. I shall never myself watch the film as I am likely to have an apoplectic fit as I rage at her on the screen.

After reading what she had to go through for this role, I think she deserves best actress. She took on so much for this role mentally and physically. I think she did a really good job for the character she had to portray.

They will probably give it to Meryl Streep since she has not won since 1982 and she has become the "Susan Lucci" of the Oscars (always the bridesmaid, but never the bride). My only problem with Meryl is that the film was terrible. It was as though she was an impressionist giving her impression of Lady Thatcher. Viola Davis gave a real performance and not her impression of Hattie McDaniel. Rooney Mara, Michele Williams and Glenn Close were great also.
