This year's Academy Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning, meaning the weeks leading up to February 26 will be filled with rumors and speculation. Michel Hazanavicius' "The Artist" and Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" lead the list with 10 and 11 nominations respectively, but there were plenty of movies with multiple nominations. "Moneyball" and "The Descendants" did well, allowing Brad Pitt and George Clooney to vie for Best Actor.

We put together a Quick Vote poll for the major categories so you can find your way around the nominations and get involved in the discussion right away. Gary Oldman! Although I have not seen this movie yet, I totally support every role Mr. Oldman has taken. Check out his filmography to see his amazing work, now....compare it to Brad Pitt....nuff said!

every year for this one, nearly, but esp for the one he did not get-for his Sirius, who actually sd much that was wise as if it were life-to-kid...but the biggest misbegotten of them all?
the guy who plays Agent Smith in "Matrix I". That was truly a leading actor Oscar performance utterly overlooked for trivial, pub-only reasons.

Gary Oldman is a great actor and very under rated so I hope he gets it ,but I don't think he will. George Clooney is smug and I can't stand him.

Yeah, Clooney is tough to warm up to.... although he sure was good in ' The Perfect Storm'. I think like Denzel Washington, he has to be paired with good co-stars to turn in a solid performance. Neither is like Tom Hanks, who can talk to a volleyball for a third of the movie, and keep your attention.

The only movie I saw out of any of them was "Moneyball" and it was mediocre. I picked Oldman because I think he's the best actor listed.

Academy don´t see to Clooney and Pitt like "serious" actors...is time for them...I´m from Mexico, and Bichir had better roles in another movies, i don´t understand why this time..."Nomination is his award"...Oldman...who can say anything bad of Gary?...Me neither...if he wins, first nomination for Oscar..maybe his time now...Jean, first nomination too, in this and the most of awards...forth french to be nominated...it's hard but can surprise the tendency of this movie...everyone wants to see now..

Pit has certainly been snubbed by the Oscars before; his role in 'Moneyball' may not be his best (as WERE his roles in 'Legends of the Fall' & 'Benjamin Button,') but I'd say it's Pitt's TURN to win the prize.

I hear ya, yeah, but sometimes Oscar logic IS poor (as is my own, lol.) I'm not even planning to see Moneyball cos it doesn't look in the least interesting.....Several times he's deserved the Oscar but been snubbed.....Let someone else be snubbed this year.

This is George Clooney's year, he has been nominated twice before and he deserves recognition for his great work. I hope to see the Descendants next week as it will be released in Ireland this Friday and I am really looking forward to seeing it.
