She was doing some of the hard drugs for a long time and I am sure that weakened her overall health, so no surprise, very sad!

Sadly, this is so predictable when people start a downward spiral with drugs. So much talent, such a waste.

Your answer choices are kind of simplistic.

It wasn't surprising, but I wasn't EXPECTING her to die this way, either.

How about "not surprising" instead of "expected"? Words mean things.

We can all say its because of her husband but she made the choice to do it, which she had said in interviews.

With her past history this is not surprising. But I did want to wait to hear it directly rather then assume it. I hoped she was getting better.

Let's stop blaming everyone except for the one who is responsible. It's not the pharmaceutical companies' fault, it's not Bobby Brown's fault....the one who is at fault is the one who was irresponsible in taking the things that killed her.

Plus, she drowned in the bathtub. I hate the thought but she did. It wasn't even HER bathtub.

She was doing so well. I only wish she were. HATE Bobby Brown! Not really surprised.Love Whitney. One of the few who could sing the National Anthem.

she wasn't doing "so well".... case in point, she died drunk and overdosed, underwater in a motel bathtub.

    REALITY CHECK!!

    Bobby Brown was nowhere around.

I will say it was one of the best national anthems I've ever heard. And I've been around awhile.

A million dollars worth of crack couldn't kill her but prescription pills and booze did.

Irony ~ if she had been smoking crack that night, she'd probably still be alive.

    Who. Cares?

This isn't news. People dying in Athens is news, people being killed in Syria is news. This...i really don't give a damn. Her death (due to mixing and taking poisons) will not affect me in any way. If i want to listen to her songs, i have the internet to thank.

When did Whitney Houston ever pay my bills? To hell with that, what has she done to improve this world? Athens and Syria however will indirectly affect me so i give more importance to that, not how some Hollywood star died of natural causes. (Overdose is a natural cause of death in Hollywood these days)

Really? You do know that the events in Syria will affect gas prices in the West. Maybe not specifically American or Canadian gas prices but definitly EU gas prices, and when that happens all of their exports will become more expensive. Syria is more important for the average American than Whitney could ever be.

Oh and people are dying there. Its no joke.

When I heard her sing at I think American Idol or one of those shows last year I was blown away at how bad of a singer she turned out to be after all of he drugs and whatever else she had done to herself. I have to give ol' Bobby some of that credit too.

The problem with celebrities is that they become objectified to the extent that they completely lose a sense of self (who they really are) and that becomes so painful that they end it.
