I do remember Red Rum, he was quite a legend here in the UK, such a beautiful horse.
I don`t like horse racing, so many get injured + die. :0(

I'm partial to Seabiscuit, because I know the most about him. According to the book I read, he had an admirable spirit. I'm not a fan of horse or dog racing, but I understand the excitement appeal.

Was truly a great horse. I hate horse racing. I lived 3 miles from a big time horse track called The Meadowlands and was close friends with some trainers and groomers. I know what is done to the horses. I don't like it one bit.

Phar Lap - one must wonder why kind of records he would have set if he had not been weighted down in order to make the races "fair" - He was a majestic animal and gifted racer.

Secretariat (March 30, 1970 – October 4, 1989) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse, that in 1973 became the first U.S. Triple Crown champion in 25 years, setting new race records in two of the three events in the Series—the Kentucky Derby (1:592⁄5), and the Belmont Stakes (2:24)—records that still stand today.[2]
Secretariat was sired by Bold Ruler out of Somethingroyal, by Princequillo. He was foaled at Meadow Farm in Caroline County, Virginia. Like his famous predecessor Man o' War, Secretariat was a large chestnut colt and was given the same nickname, "Big Red." Secretariat's grandsire, Nasrullah, is also the great-great-grandsire of 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew. Secretariat
