The first two movies were the best the third one was just horrible (bad acting No violence scenes and plot was stupid) Kurtwood Smith did a great job as the villain in the first film Peter weller did great job as robocop in the first two movies as well. the first two films had kinda alright special effects for the late 80s and Early 90s

While RoboCop 2's Kane Robot was cool, the movie was no match for the classic RoboCop. RoboCop 3 was a huge trainwreck that disgraces RoboCop (no violence, good jokes, good writing, or even okay special effects).

The only cool part of RoboCop 2:

The first one was the best...then the franchise got stupid and the special effects were a complete travesty in Robocop3...that was just pitiful

It was grittier than the first.

But it was less violent, funny, and generally had less effort put into it.

That would be Robocop 3. It was garbage.

3 was a complete disaster, but 2 had it's fair share of problems too.

In RoboCop 2, the violence was greatly reduced from Frank Miller's ideas because they were afraid that it would be rated NC-17 (the original almost was). The jokes seemed un-thought out and weren't very funny. Finally, the special effects were inadequate; as cool as the Kane Robot was, it looked too fake for 1990.

I loved that robot. Even though I thought that the shoulder mounted missile launcher was shades of Predator. The robots were as good as the Cyborg in The Terminator after it's skin got burned off. Yes I know that Terminator was an older movie but the effects in that movie were good and Robocop 2 wasn't too far from that.

"The robots were as good as the Cyborg in The Terminator after it's skin got burned off."
-Not for effects. Watch both side by side.

    "I loved that robot."
-I did too, but it would have been better if it was at least as good of effects as the ED 209 from RoboCop 1.

The effects weren't that bad by comparison. Yes in hind sight it does like a bit more like Clash of the Titans circa 1981 than something from 1990, but it was still my favorite of the Robocop films. And yes 90% was because of the Cane Robot.

RoboCop 2 was almost a good movie for me, but it just had too many problems. I think it would have been better just to stick to Frank Miller's original script.

I'm looking forward to getting my "Frank Miller's RoboCop" graphic novel (I just ordered it on Amazon). It is supposed to be his original violent uncompromised screenplay for RoboCop 2. Rumor is that it's actually funny, and extremely violent (even more so that RoboCop 1).

I did like the humor in the first Robocop. Namely the commercials.

Yes those were great (like the SUX 6000). At least RoboCop 2 tried to do those again; 3 didn't even bother to try.
