Jazz was from New Orleans and Lakers was from Minneapolis

It was a close tie with Anaheim Ducks....I can totally see finding pelicans in New Orleans around the bay; I know you can see thunder in Oklahoma every spring....But, I've never thought of Utah as a real "Jazzy" place and Ducks...ain't no Ducks in Anaheim...

Utah Jazz should have changed their name to Bees. Jazz is from New Orleans and Pelicans are the state bird of Louisiana. I like Pelicans, no different from Cardinals, Dolphins, Ducks, Blue Jays, and Cubs.

you ought to see some of the nicknames for high school teams in the state of Illinois like the Pretzels the Cornjerkers the Wooden Shoes the Bunnies the Zippers the Speedboys the Appleknockers got some nicknames in other states

The name Blue Jackets refers back to the American Civil war. It was what the Union soldiers were called.

Ducks?????? Ducks????? Ever since they came into the NHL i have wondered what the hell ducks have to do with hockey...hell ducks don't even have anything to do with ice, they kinda prefer unfrozen water.

Owners should have to get fan approval before naming the team after a lame ass movie.
